:yes: It can really vary. I have seen some posts of people getting the card in a couple of months while others have waited over a year. You might take a look at the timeline stats, there is some good info for you to look at.

Good luck

While there is NO way that one can absolutely predict how long it will take to be approved for a green card, there is indeed a great deal of history thats been compiled by this and other sites that can help. There are a good number of variables that can either shorten or lengthen the amount of time it takes, like:

1. Type of immigration, K-visa, marriage-based, visitor, etc.

2. Completeness of paperwork

3. Previous immigation violations

4. Previous involvement with criminal law enforcement.

If you are filing from a K-visa, many report receiving green card approval within five months to one year after sending the package to the USCIS.

I wish there was either rhyme or reason to how USCIS does things...

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil
