I would actually get a tattoo but I find a lot of that tribal stuff cliche. Don't see the point in having something everyone else has.

There's also the possibility that this could happen...

I can't understand the point of those tribal tattoos - its not like the person has any tribal affiliations to make it actually have meaning for them. Can't understand why people get tattoos that have no symbolic meaning for themselves.

All my tattoos doesn't have anything to do with my culture, actually they have nothing to do with each other. Some people (that know sh!t about tatoos) think it's weird the mix - tribal, hindu, japanese. But it's a body art and I know their meaning, I chose them because they have a meaning for me, they represent a time of my life, and they're unique.

So what you sugest when a person decide to have a tattoo is to have those hearts with ''I love whomever'', because that would definitely be a tattoo that has a meaning in the life of the person that decided to get it. Or hey, maybe americans should only tattooed US flags.

You don't have to have any affiliation, because if you think about it, lots of tattoos don't have an specific meaning in people's life, it's a body art, it's something that makes the person unique. Like a dragon - very common tattoo, do people have dragons as pets so they decide to make that tattoo? A star, the sun, the moon, do they have a meaning? What would it be exactly?? That they know the moon exist? Or maybe they must worship the sun?

I get really sick of all the judging and criticism.

i have seen some saggy trousers that don't even cover the butt. and they wear the belt right under their butt too... or right across it... .. and they have their boxers completely showing

one of our nephews dresses like that.. I think it looks really strange

0817liv_fish2.jpg

Our HS kids like to do this too...somebody told me this is called "bustin' slack". Not sure if this is the right terminology for this...um..."style" but I suppose different kids have different ways of describing this...um..."style".

I don't know how true this is (or even if there's any truth at all) but one of my co-workers told me that when male inmates wear their pants (I thought they wore those gawd awful jumpsuits) this way that was letting other inmates know they are "available"...know what I mean? *shudder*

Low rise jeans and a tramp stamp is even worse. Add a thong into the mix and TA DA!

What's funny is when the really overweight girls do it and that large strip of skin between the bottom of their shirt (or coat) and the tops of their trousers is jerking back and forth as they walk. It's hypnotic...like a metronome. I think if someone filmed them and showed it to them, they'd die of embarrassment.

I just googled tramp stamp, didn't know what that was. I have one, btw. It's interesting how americans will label you that because of a body art. I'd never go through this kind of prejudice in Brazil.

It's not just Americans, nessa. The tramp stamp is also often looked down upon by the British.

In England having a tribal design tatto on your lower back is SO chav.

Many a Saturday night here in I've seen disgusting, fat female chavs with their flab rolls falling out everywhere bending over to puke and exposing their butt cracks. NOT nice. Perhaps the Louisiana law makers would consider enacting an ordinance here, too?

Here you see a lot of trackie bottoms tucked into socks. WHY?!?!?!?!?

Not everyone can pull off a tattoo - esp a visible one (especially with the aid of low-rise jeans). Tattoos are generally not a good idea on overweight people - in the event you lose or gain a lot of weight, the design can get all distorted.

I guess I see the same things on so many people that it looks "common" to me - esp the tramp stamp. Not so much the placing - but the same old designs over and over - they might as well get themselves tattooed with a barcode, it would be more of a statement IMO.

The whole point of body art, like certain fashions is to stand out and express individual identity. Not sure I see the problem with being judgmental about it - as most people are often equally judgmental about people's hair and choice of clothes.

Also those jeans with the extra long legs that people roll-up to create that bell-bottom look.

well my tribal I had it done when I was 16 and nobody else had (not nobody else at all, but among all the people I knew, and trust me, I knew LOT of people and my friends). Maybe it wasn't that common back then, I also don't like to have something everybody else have, if I didn't have that one done back then, I wouldn't have it done today, cuz I see it everywhere, even if I've never heard the term tramp stamp. But back then I was unique, oh well. It's a pretty tattoo though, I don't regret having it done, I just wouldn't have it done nowadays.

I still want another tattoo I've been planing, on the upper back, so maybe this year, dunno.

And what I said about americans, it's not that I'm bad mouthing americans, nothing against americans, hey I live here, my husband is american, but it's just something that I've noticed here when it comes to tattoos, the judgment, I wouldn't go through that in BRazil, we're not labeled there. Oh well.

I find it hard to believe that Brazilians don't, to some extent, judge others on personal appearance and modes of fashion. Its human nature.

from what i saw, they don't. and tattoos are not unusual there.
