It's a pretty obvious strategy at this point by the Democrats (and their partners, the media, bureau renegades, neocons, etc., who all hate Trump for their own reasons), who have nothing of interest for the voting populace to bother with:

 

Give the deranged left their daily dose of gaslighting, confirmation bias, try and break down the barriers of weak-minded moderates and independents with swirling, unremitting negativity via invented outrage/scandals, and investigations to facilitate (along with circular reporting where the media basically regurgitate each other verbatim) a false impression of criminal activity. People who know better and are honest will be annoyed by it, the left, who largely know its bunk, will just play along and hope it gets rid of the big bad orange man so they can get back to getting their way 100% of the time rather than usual mediocre 99%.
