Hi.

I've asked this question before buy I didn't get any clear answer.I'm getting ready to send the form DS-230 and required papers.my question is :Is the court and prison records required ? even it said this in the instructions packet :

Court and prison records

Applicants who have been convicted of a crime must obtain a certified copy of each court record and any prison record, regardless of the fact that he or she may have subsequently benefited from an amnesty, pardon or other act of clemency.

Court records should include:

• Complete information regarding the circumstance surrounding the crime of which the applicant was convicted

• The disposition of the case, including sentence or other penalty or fine imposed.

I have never been convicted of a crime so will I still have to submit a paper from the court stating that I have no prison records ??

No you don't need to... If you haven't been to court or prison for any crimes, then you don't need those documents.

I think all you will need is a police clearance stating that you are in good standing...check your packet for this requirement.

You need to get the sigil al adly (I don't think I spelled this correctly) paper from the court. Even if you have never had a problem. This is the paper you will take with you to your interview. Make sure it has the words none or nothing on it.

Hi.

I have never been convicted of a crime so will I still have to submit a paper from the court stating that I have no prison records ??

Please read carefully first. It says,

• The disposition of the case, including sentence or other penalty or fine imposed."

Then you also mentioned you have never been convicted of any crime. So now you tell me why do you need court and prison records when it says clearly "Court and prison records

Applicants who have been convicted of a crime must obtain a certified copy of each court record and any prison record, regardless of the fact that he or she may have subsequently benefited from an amnesty, pardon or other act of clemency.Court records should include:

• Complete information regarding the circumstance surrounding the crime of which the applicant was convicted

• The disposition of the case, including sentence or other penalty or fine imposed."

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
