Hi guys ,

I finally had my N-400 ( based on marriage) interview about a week ago. I am a little bit confused about my case now . On interview day, I went in and was asked about civics questions and some writing and reading. Right after that , the officer gave me n-652 that said congrats , your application has been recommended for approval (. So I thought I passed and interview ended!) but Then she asked me what documents I brought and asked me more couple questions while she was scanning documents ( it is already confusing since I expected she would have reviewed all papers and giving me n-652 in the end but it is reversed 😂). In the end she told me I will receive a notice about oath in about 3 weeks ( couldn’t hear exactly what she said  because of mask but I got the key words notice in 3 weeks and oath!) She didn’t say anything if I pass the interview .Same day , my status changed to oath will be scheduled . So I am still waiting but I am not sure if my n-400 has been approved or do I have anything else to do since the status didn’t say I pass the interview but it changed to oath will be scheduled instead and has no documentation attached on my account yet . If anyone can help , please explain this to me . Thank you so much

Hi All,

I just wanted to let you know that I got approved today and the oath ceremony was right after that at Mount Laurel Field Office, NJ. The young lady was very polite and quick. She asked the following questions:

1. What is the name of the national anthem?

2. Why does the flag have 13 stripes?

3. Which was President Eisenhower general in?

4. Who is the commander-in-chief of the military?

5. Who is the current Vice President?

6. Who makes federal laws?

Then she asked me several questions on my form, very straightforward. She did not ask to see a single paper. Then I was done. She took me to the hall for the oath taking ceremony where they gave us passport application forms as well as voter registration forms. Also a little US flag :) I waited for an hour for more people to collect. The oath ceremony took 5 minutes after which we were given the certificate of citizenship. I went it at 12:15 PM and was out at 2 PM. Very efficient.. must congratulate the Mt Laurel center for their quiet efficiency!

Thank you all for your support and good luck with your citizenship journey!

My mother got her interview schedule the next day as my father’s. They’re both senior citizen. Has anyone tried asking USCIS if they could reschedule like on the same day? They’d be travelling from Petaluma to San Francisco... Thank you!

I just got my notice today about my interview scheduled for June 9th. And just realized we lost my spouse’s original Naturalization Certificate. I have photocopies tho. Applying for replacement could take up to 6mos. Anyone here went to their interview with only the photocopy?

Apply for replacement ASAP.... and take evidence that you have applied. Take your spouse's passport with you as well as the photocopy that you have. That's probably the most you can do. Explain to them that your spouse have applied for replacement and hopefully it will work out!

Good news! My father just passed his citizenship interview today. He was granted to have his oath taking ceremony right after. Tomorrow is my mom’s turn. Hopefully everything will turn out successful. Good thing my sister was allowed to accompany my father inside. Thank God! USCIS Office: San Francisco

So i did my interview today, when asked if i had any weapon training, i told the interviewer i visited a gun range last month, but i don't own a gun. She said they'll need to do another background check on me before she can approve. Has anyone ever gotten this kind of response before? My case status has changed to case is being actively reviewed by USCIS

Hello everyone,

I know it is a bit late after the fact but I would like to share that I finally got the citizenship!!!!! I had a combo interview on July 19th. After submitting 2 inquiries for outside normal processing times, they finally sent me the notification for I 751 first, (it was a manual generated forma) which never triggered any changes on the USCIS website, then 3 days after I received a second notification for the n-400, which also did not triggered anything. The funny thing is that before receiving the 2nd notification I called customer service and they had no idea about the document being sent. Anyway, long story short, combo interview at 8:45 am in SF. I went there with 4 binders of proof lol( which did not serve at all). The lady was very nice and pretty laid back, but professional. She just asked us if anything has changed since I have submitted the documents and we shared both that we changed job locations, but stayed with the same company. We had the i751 first and then she asked me if I would like hubby to be present during the n-400 interview. Of course, I said yes. She asked 6 questions (sorry I cannot remember which ones), asked me to read and answer the question on the screen, then write the answer on the same screen. Then she told us that if she is moving fast to complete the updates in the system, she can book me for the 12:15 ceremony, the same day, and she did! I was extremely happy!!!! I had the ceremony, which was very quick. It lasted 5 minutes and was a bit dry. We were not offered the option to apply for the passport that day as no rep from the state was there. After the ceremony, we went to celebrate in the traditional American way with hamburgers and fries lol!!! On 11th of August I applied for passport, and I was told that it might take up to 18 weeks for it to arrive. The lady asked me if I want it rushed, but as I did not have any plans to travel, I did not rushed it. Passport arrived exactly 1 month after. Advice: take a copy of your naturalization certificate as you are required to submit the original with all the paperwork. They return it in 2 separate envelopes after.  Good luck to everyone who is still waiting for this process to be done!
