And just as we give up and decide it's going to be a while longer, this notice arrived today! We'll have to wait for the letter to post, but should be soon now.

**SIGH**  🙂

If I may ask, what time did you notice the change or what time did they notify you / change your online status? Thanks

You certainly may! I received an email at 3:30 pm Central Time on January 22 notifying us of "recent processing action". I needed to log into the USCIS account to see what the "action" was - still haven't received a hard copy of the appointment notice, but an image of it was posted as a document in the account a couple days afterward showing the date, time, and location of the interview appointment.

Same here, Newark NJ n400 in February 9, 2020, after biometric, nothing els.

but don’t worry because they are now processing October, November, December 2019.

don’t freak out. They are late in processing.

Just as an FYI, all these dates showing that they are processing "October, or November or December 2019" don't really mean what you think. That's basically a way to tell you not to bother them until that date changes to the month you had filed, which I guess your date would be in February 2020. I filed in February 2020, and based on my office online they are "processing November 2019 applications". But I already received my interview (finally) early December for early January. I passed and got the "congratulations letter". The same day I got the "recommended for approval. In line for oath ceremony scheduling". A week later I got my oath schedule letter online and the oath date is early February. Yet when I check online it says the office is still processing November 2019 filers.

A lot of people have filed during or just after the lockdown and are done. One guy filed in July and was done by December. So even if you are after the month they state they are processing applications, you can still get everything done. There are people also on the other hand who filed maybe April 2019 but are still waiting. There are many factors really: what office you are in, how many applicants, is your background check completed, how fast is the officer in charge of your specific file...?

Hi,

To which processing center did you apply? My application was received at the Newark, NJ processing center on February 21, 2020 but after my biometrics last March, I haven't heard from them. My online account says  "Invalid date Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS". I wrote to them but they said I do not have to do anything. I am wondering if anyone else here is in a similar situation.

Thanks,

Vasanthi

I filed in January 31, 2020 (they acknowledged it February 3). Did my biometrics before the lockdown mid February. I had a completion date of September. In August the Estimated wait time which was August went to "We are taking longer..." There were no updates or changes online. Then early December the last change I saw was "Invalid date Case is Being Actively Reviewed by USCIS", which I had never seen before. 3 days later I got a notification for interview scheduled. So I would not freak out. It either means someone is looking at your file, and/or something is coming up or at least you moved on to another step with them. But no one knows for sure except USCIS.

Hi, thank you for your response! Could you let me know which processing center you applied to? Thanks again!

It's in Northern Virginia. I did not complete my Biometrics in Washington DC nor did I have my interview there, but in Fairfax VA. But I believe that actually falls under the Washington DC field office.

My oath ceremony is scheduled for next week Friday, February 5 !!!

I will share my experience here as it may help others.

I had my interview December 3rd and a week later they sent me a notice online that my oath ceremony would be scheduled.

As the weeks passed by I became a bit concerned; no news online, no letter in the mail. So I decided to do some research as there had been one question on the application that I had answered with a no: "If the law requires it, are you willing to bear arms on behalf of the United States?"

The officer who did the interview had asked me about that, why I did not want to bear arms and I answered that my belief does not allow me to. He asked what the name of that belief is and I was not prepared for that question so I told him it is closest to Buddhism. (I believe in nonviolence and have believed in that since I was a teenager).

I had to sign a paper stating that I did not want to bear arms.

I read more on the subject and found out that even though you are free to answer 'no' to that question, normally you would need a written statement from a priest or other religious person, or affidavits from people that know you well etc. to make sure your belief is sincere, meaningful and deeply held  - you can find that information on the USCIS website. I did not know about it before. https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-j-chapter-3

So I decided to write a statement myself as I am not part of any religion but my belief is deeply held.

I wrote that statement January 21st, printed it, signed it, scanned it and uploaded it into my online account at night.

The following day they took action on my case and sent out the letter with the oath ceremony invitation that I received today.

I believe my statement made someone look at my file again (a small chance that it could be a coincidence) and take action.

So my experience - even though in my case it was about something particular - might help some of you out there who have been waiting for a long time for an action on your case. You can always review what you have uploaded and see if there is any important additional information and do an additional upload.

I don't think it would hurt and it might have an officer look at your case...

Good luck everyone!!

I think a lot depends on which center is processing your case. I guess the number applicants in NJ might be higher than some other centers. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Hi guys,

First of all I would like to thank you for all of your information. Currently, I checked my uscis account and saw things changed. My estimate completion time is in June 2021 but my estimated wait time is 20 days from now on. The time frame is really confusing so I wonder if this is the error of the website or what it means? Has anyone experienced this?

thank you
