Hi Everyone,

On Sept. 21, I finally Naturalized. We waited for an 1hr 30 mins outside the building because they were swearing in 12 -15 people at a time inside the USCIS Building.

There was no judge and an Immigration Officer conducted the ceremony. We were sworn and they called our names one by one then they handed our Certificates and envelopes. We were told we didn’t have to call Social Security Office, because our immigration status will automatically update(haven’t called them yet to confirm)  We were inside the building for 15 mins. And that was it.

So very thankful for this group and have yall have given me hope that I wasn’t alone in this journey. :)

Today I did my interview.  It went smoothly. Lasted about 15 mins.  Waited 35 minutes after to collect the notice to appear for the swearing in ceremony for tomorrow.  Journey almost over.

Congratulations... What were the questions they have asked you on the civis/reading/writing exams?

Can’t remember all the questions but he asked who was the current president, how many years can a representative serve in a term in office, etc.  Questions that can be easily answered if you study the booklet.

Hi Everyone,

I have my interview schedule for 10/28 in Baltimore. I just received a notice for a second set of biometrics to be taken on 10/27. Is that normal? I haven’t seen many people mention a second set of biometrics. Should I try and get them done sooner?

My employer is not being flexible with appointment time etc so I am a little concerned. Will call USCIS tomorrow for clarification but wanted to hear you opinions as well.
Thank you for the feedback :)

They probably thought your finger prints were incomplete and/or not done correctly. So, they are asking for another set.  I would not call them, if I was you. No matter what the phone person tells you, I think it would be smart to just do them. In regards to your boss, to me at least, USCIS requirements are more important than work requirement and thus I would arrange my priorities as such whether your employer understands that or not.

Hi,

It looks like that the processing time has changed as of last night. At our local office, they now finish 50% of the cases in 10 months (a couple months faster than the two months prior to that), and they finish 93% of the cases in 21 months (2 months and a half faster).  That tells me that they are up and moving, but not as fast as they used to do back in January and definitely not as good as the wishful thinking of many of the applicants!

Hubby got his 1 year stamp today.  They kept his green card and the worker wrote in his passport that the I-751 and N-400 are pending. When my husband asked about that, the worker said "don't worry about your cases, they're coming soon". Unfortunately, no further clarification was provided. Both cases should be at the field office, so fingers crossed will get an appointment notice before the end of the year.
