Hey ALL,

Thank you everyone for your help and support Yesterday was my naturalization ceremony and officially this long process is over now. Wish everyone all the best and have patience. It was a very quick process due to COVID, only check in took long time.

Cheers

Hi Everyone, I got an eNotice 2 days ago than my interview is finally schedule. And today I got the date for late October. I am fuming under the 3 year rule for persons married to US citizens. Does anyone know if my spouse is required to attend under the new appointment COVID19 restrictions? I would have to have my husband sit in the car and wait and waste their time and PTO.

 The letter I got states:

“Who should come with you? Only the following people may come with you to your interview:
*If you do not speak English fluently, you should arrange to have an interpreter available by phone. Do not bring an interpreter to the interview. If you need a Sign Language Interpreter or Certified Deaf Interpreter, call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283 as soon as possible.
*Your attorney or authorized representative may come with you to the interview, or be available via phone.
*If you have a disability and have an individual who assists you, that individual may come with you.”

Has anyone gone through the process recently? did USCIS allow your spouse  to attend interview or ceremony?

Congrats on receiving the notice! I can’t speak personally but I’m pretty sure no one else is allowed in other than you (or those mentioned above) even for the citizenship ceremony 😞 trust me I’m going to be really bummed about it once husband gets his notices.

Although they usually do not allow anyone in there with you, I think a husband/wife should be there just in case. I mean it is an important day for you, isn't it? Being supportive is not a waste of time or paid time off, in my opinion! Congratulations...

Hi everybody,

Just discovered this great thread so I’m a bit late to the party.

My stats:

N400 filing date: 02-25-2020

Biometrics: 03-17-2020

Interview notice: 09-16-2020

Interview date: 10-28-2020

Does anyone have any recent experience with the Baltimore field office? My interview there is scheduled for 2:45pm and I wonder if it is realistic to expect a same-day oath ceremony with this time slot.

Thanks.

Welcome! If you’d like you can add yourself carefully to our spreadsheet. I don’t see any MD filers in our group however. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ejnUze1-LBRVcSUuXgsDR247G4bpImpUtFHL_xvtQ3w/htmlview#gid=492990081 I suggest lurking at the January filers spreadsheet to see if they had any MD Members as well.

Congratulations! My interview is scheduled for the same day and location. I am not sure if the ceremony will be the same day but from other posts it's seems they many locations are doing interview and ceremonies on the same day due to COVID.

Thank you so much and I agree with you in principle. We are very excited, however, due to COVID19, I would rather not expose my family to additional risks if it can be avoided.

Hi there. I just registered on this forum.

I applied for citizenship online with service center in Newark, NJ

I filed for N400 on 02/29/2020

Biometrics Notice on 03/06/2020 with the date of 03/23/2020 (Cancelled due to COVID-19)

Estimated case completion time on uscis website is November 2020.

Nothing since then! Waiting for biometric appointment to be rescheduled.

Our timeline is almost the same. I applied online on Feb22 and got my Biometrics scheduled for March 18, the same day ASC closed. I tried walking in later July but was told they only do appointments. I called USCIS in AUG and they said they are aware and will reschedule. After few weeks i got rescheduled for Sep 22. I don't know if the call helped coz i asked the agent if they have registered a request to which they replied no and its gonna happen automatically.

You can give it a try by calling them.

My estimated case completion was Nov 2020 but after completing biometrics it moved to April 2021.

Keep us posted if you have any updates.

really? I guess I can try tomorrow. Any idea what time they are not super busy? best time to walk in

The Elizabeth ASC is not known to be walk-in friendly. But you should try your luck. As long as you can pass through the "dragon" at the entrance, no one inside will check your appointment date & time.

But the dragons are known to be rude and not friendly nor empathetic at all.
