Simple Question about expedite

Hello,

 

We just sent our I-864 documents and DS-260 via CEAC last week. We paid all the fees and submitted ALL documents.

 

Can I still apply for expedite? Or will it be redundant?

You can always apply for expedition. You still have a month or two or more depending on consulate. NVC takes awhile to review cases, consulate takes awhile to schedule appointments and receive visa cases.

Yes you can apply. The consulate actually makes the expedite decision once the case is at NVC.

Obviously there should be a reason for the expedite. have documentation of the reason ready to provide if requested.

I’ve also resubmitted documents Due to incorrect ones last January and can I bypass the nvc processing review through requesting for an expedite? Even tho there’s no certainty if all documents are correct already? Kinda worried of aging out

If the consulate decides to expedite, they will handle review of the documents.

Shouldn't be able to age out at this point...the PD is current (F2A) so the age is no longer an issue.

I don't understand. 

I just talked to NVC and they told me that they don't look at the expedite request at all. They send it to embassy after you wait for 2 months for NVC to review your documents.

Correct, that's what I stated. The expedite is reviewed by the consulate, not NVC.

If the expedite is approved, then NVC will send the case to the consulate for processing. The consulate will handle review of the documents.

If the expedite is not approved, it will go through the normal flow at NVC, including the review time -> DQ -> Wait for interview to be scheduled.

What I was told is that the embassy won't even be able to make a decision until after the 2month DQ wait. That the embassy won't see the request

That's not my understanding of how expedites at NVC work. I've seen cases expedited that took a couple weeks from request to being at the consulate.

If one has to wait for DQ, then that effectively means there is no expedite at NVC. But there is.

I pray you are right and I got a person that didn't know what they were talkkng about. This process is driving me insane.
