My name as the petitioner is misspelled on the K1 visa in my fiance's passport that was just issued.  I have done multiple cases to let the consulate know and I keep getting a generic response that they are escalating the case.

Does it even matter? Will it impact future things like AOS or do I just ignore and move on since my name is correct on all other documents?

Thanks!

You need to change it. Yes, she will have problems because is not her real name.

Call the Embassy or send a email.

One you receive the Visa you have a note which says: check your information,  if are some mistakes contact the Embassy (or the place they recommend you).

for your sake and your beneficiary's do not have your beneficiary travel on that visa, it amounts to alot of heartache ....I read somewhere not sure where that most embassies allow walk in's without appointment to correct mistakes on visas. I think it was stated clearly on the instruction page that came with the issued visa.

I emailed the embassy and in this case, the petitioner name is an annotation and they said it is fine to travel. My name as the petitioner is correct everywhere else. The most important name is his name (beneficiary). I will keep you posted and thanks for the input!

Nice he will do well to point it out at POE so the mistake is not repeated on other documentation that will follow....wish you guys best of luck

My husband's had the same problem on it with my last name having one missing letter and he had no issues travelling to the USA and we just applied for AOS. Because it's an annotation, as long as the name is correct on official forms and the original petition you will be fine. These typos are not uncommon
