it doesn’t matter what you think is enough, it’s what will satisfy the CO that matters.

No joint sponsor will mean no visa. If they didn’t tell you to send in your passport with the joint sponsor information then it’s most likely your visa will not be issued by Feb 22, when the ban is implemented. You should still send in as quickly as possible a joint sponsor

Feb. 22 is only two weeks away.  If you can't find a qualified joint sponsor to send in an I-864 with accompanying financial documents, and get all this to the embassy in Lagos in the next few days, your window of opportunity to fix this is quickly closing and your US wife needs to start thinking about moving to Nigeria to live with you.  Or be prepared for a very long wait while you keep looking for a joint sponsor, send the required documents, wait for an interview, get denied because of the travel ban, then wait to file a waiver or for Nigeria to be taken off the travel ban list.  So sorry you are going through all this, be strong, and you will eventually be together!

Like submitting at NVC bank statements? And house documents? No we didn't submit that. She is rich.

But we didn't submit that. Is there a way to submit that?

I am not as experienced or as Knowledgeable as many who have responded to you and i say this with all humility and encouragement for your case hoping it goes well. To your original question, do you have hope? Yes you do. They returned your passport but ASKED you to submit more documents. Meaning you have a chance. Focus on providing the information that was asked of you. You can't send anything to NVC at this point as they forwarded your case to the Consulate so If you want to add extra's like bank statements and all that to show your petitioner has what it takes to prove you won't be a public charge, you could send that along with the new I-864 you submit. But remember, the CO has no obligation to consider those as they asked for 2 specific things based on what you stated - joint sponsor and WHY they decided to sponsor. The one thing I have learned from this site is - trying to prove your case to us (members of VJ) will change nothing. We  understand and feel your anguish. And i say this because you keep reiterating that "she is rich". We may not know her financial situation and she may as well be secretly be a millionaire. But none of us here asked for the I-864 and as a result none of us will be reviewing the documents. Focus on what it is you have been asked, do everything to get the right documents within the short window you have as time now is playing against you. We all respond because we want to be of help! Do what others have suggested

The sponsor MUST prove the financial status of their claims in the I-864. Your sponsor must send in IRS tax transcripts, and when assets are written: proof of claimed assets, excerpts of home value, bank account statements. Without evidence an I-864 is useless. The I-864 must also be correctly filled out and contain a “wet” signature.

claiming she is rich does absolutely nothing with the Consulate.

I don't know if that will work since they asked for a Joint sponsor.  But you can submit bank statements, appraisal showing the value of her house, documents that show the inheritance you mentioned.  If she is truly as rich as you claim this might work.  But I don't know that for sure.

I just talked to VJ Immigration lawyers and they said same thing. I will send a new i-184 affidavit of support and add all bank statements and assets ownership, then send it with a letter, explaining why all these are sent instead of a joint Sponsor. Then pray.

They also take into consideration of your age, education, how likely u will be able to find and hold a job. Your old job history and so on.

Do you have any significant age difference where she is much older than you and won't be able to support you in the future? Being rich doesnt guarantee that she will leave all that money to u.

Also owning a house is not considered as asset if it is the USC's primary residence. If she sells it where r the two of u gonna live?

Did you guys provide all the documentation for this? They are not going to check anything for you. They look at the evidence you provided with your application. If u didn't show bank statements or investment portfolio when you had the chance might be interesting to know if you can add more assets now and try to work around it instead of getting a joint sponsor.

And $40k a year is not rich by any means.

That might be the problem, there's a huge age difference between us. And within the period i have a good job in Nigeria, and have over 4 years of working experience as an a computer software engineer. But i don't think that would be a problem. It's discrimination.

We didn't add any bank statements or assets ownership, just the affidavit of support we filled and tax transcripts. It's rare, i had a nice interview. But got this sad news.

What do you mean "without checking"?  Did she not provide adequate financial evidence for your interview?  Also, for most areas of the US, her income is fairly low.

The CO also takes into consideration parameters such as your own employment history, education, potential ability to earn a living in the US, health status, etc.

You're focusing too much on only one aspect of the totality, which is her current income.

Bottom line:  no joint sponsor, no visa.  You may need to look at having her move to Nigeria if you want to be together.

She has a nice amount in the bank above 200k and other inheritance. Isn't that reasonable enough? And also we have a prenuptial agreement which i submitted where all these are listed and notarized by a notary.
