Like I said, they look at the overall financial picture of each applicant.  In your case, they believe you are at risk of becoming a public charge and therefore requiring you to find an eligible joint sponsor.

 

If you want the visa, there is no way around that unfortunately.

The other poster isn’t suggesting your visa will be issued by a particular date.  She’s saying you need to hustle and get this done ASAP due to the upcoming Nigeria travel ban.

Ok, she made about 39, 000 in 2018, but the poverty guidelines for family of 2 is 21,137. Please can you explain how this works?

Did your sponsor provide enough evidence of the income? Tax transcripts? Proof of citizenship? Proof of other assets?

 

regardless of what they have, they WANT a joint sponsor, so you’ll need to provide one.

We can't get a joint Sponsor, no one.she has no family or anyone who can support. She makes more than enough money and is rich.

I know it might seem like it to you but $39,000 per year in the US is not rich.  I make more than that and I have to be very careful with my money.  It costs a lot to live here.  Some parts of the country are more expensive than others.  I know housing is crazy expensive here in south Florida.  Yes she is over the poverty guidelines.  But for whatever reason they believe you may become a public charge and want to see a joint sponsor.  I don't see any way around this.

She owns a house, she has money in the bank, more from inheritance and all. How can they conclude without even checking.
