IR1 US Consulate Interview question . Need assistance in answering this question

Hi Friends ,

 

My wife has her US Consulate IR1 visa interview on 2nd March and we have given the intended address in the US where she will stay as my brother's address who is also our joint sponsor. However I plan to travel to to San Francisco on 18th Feb to search for jobs as SF has a lot of job openings for my field of work.

 

on form i-130 , DS-260 ( already submitted)  and i-864 we've given my brother' address who lives in Detroit, MI as the intended address of the immigrant. This is the only permanent address we know in the US as of today and I will be staying in SF on sharing basis. When the consular asks her " Where do you intend to stay in the US ?" , how should she ans this one. 

 

By the time she travels I intend to search jobs in the US or get one and we intend to live there. 

 

Does saying that " I intend to stay with mu husband in SF " and a diff address on the forms causes an issues ? We really want to be prepared on what to expect

Just answer where she will be physically staying in the US. If you have an address you can tell your beneficiary in SF before the March 2nd interview, then have your wife update her physical address/mailing address in the US to the SF location during the interview. The address quite critical to the procurement of documents such as the I-551 and other correspondence with USCIS, so you want it to be factual and updated at all times.

The whole immigration process takes many months and even a year to complete, changing in addresses is something that happens for some. Your wife can clear up all address information at her interview so it reflects what the most current one is.
