While filling out an I-130 it asks for my physical address for the last 5 years.  During 3 of those years I was in another state for school.  For IRS tax purposes I was "temporarily away" and filed out of state taxes for income, etc. while maintaining an official residency with family back home.  I never applied for or got residency in the new state.  So for the I-130, which do I use for my physical address?  The address I had while at school, or the one I used for residency back home?  If I use the address from school it will not match my tax forms, which I am thinking could be a red flag, but those where the addresses I could physically be found at.  Help!

In your case, I don't think it makes a difference. Physical address, is not defined by where you can be found at a given moment.  It just means where you live as opposed to where you get your mail.  If your 2019 tax return not yet filed shows the same address "back home" there is no discrepancy in using the back home address as your physical address.  You do not submit tax returns with the I-130.  It will be much later this year or even early next year at the NVC stage, that you will submit a tax return in support of your Affidavit of Support.
