Hello everyone, new here and hoping to see if anyone can advise us as to what their wait times for interview dates in Santo Domingo have been. We received case complete / documentarily qualified from the NVC on December 12, 2019, about 55 days ago now. Called NVC in December and was able to speak to a supervisor who stated that they are in contact with the embassy in Santo Domingo scheduling appointments on a daily basis, and we should not have a long wait. Called again today (Feb 5, 2020) and spoke with a case representative who said everything is fine with case, just waiting to schedule our interview appointment, but could not provide any idea of how much longer we may have to wait. What have your wait times been like from NVC stating everything is approved to receiving your interview date, and then far out from the notice to the actual interview? Thanks in advance for your comments and advice everyone!

We received our interview date today for March 2nd. Was not expecting that to come for another month! But good news nonetheless.

Suarezj519, or anyone else who may be able to answer another question - what did the medical examination in Santo Domingo involve? Specifically, if anyone doesn’t mind sharing, the total cost in dollars or pesos for the examine/vaccinations. I have reviewed the costs listed on the websites for the two offices here and the basic exam cost is straightforward ($285 if I recall), but I am curious as to how many vaccinations they typically administer- that is the cost I am not sure of. My wife/family have been unable to locate her childhood vaccination records, and even so other friends told me they don’t even take childhood records into account sometimes. Thanks everyone!

Congrats!! Yeah I saw some people on a fb group in in get theirs as well. That's great appointments are getting assigned much faster. For medical.

The old clinic ( near clínica abreu) won't take vaccination records supposedly. The newer one in bell Vista supposedly does. Total cost for my wife at the old clinic was $460. I'd take 550 or so just in case. They accept cash only in dollars or pesos. Also I recommend doing the medical this upcoming Monday morning (Feb 10). Best be there before 5 am or so to get out before noon. You can also make your fingerprint appointment today for same day too on ustraveldocs site for after medical exam. It's best to get it done this early so they don't put her case in administrative processing if they haven't received the results. Also, I assume you're planning on going to interview with your spouse?

Thanks again for the great info! Yes, we plan to attend the interview together.

I am having trouble with ustraveldocs site getting the profile complete on their system. After entering all the info it comes back stating that her info is associated with an account/email that is not ours. Several years back we had applied for a visitors visa for her and used a lawyer here in the DR to handle it - that lawyer scheduled the VAC appointment she had back then and apparently had created an email address to use which we don’t have access to. I have sent the info to support and can call them Monday morning to follow up. I hope this doesn’t create an issue because as of now I cannot a schedule the VAC.

Hi! You can you can go to any Centro de Vacunación and get the vaccines needed. DTP, DT, Influenza (these are free). Varicella costs around 3500 pesos but need to go to a private center to get it. Go to the CDC website and search for Vaccine Requirements According to Applicant Age

Okay appreciate the good info! We resolved the login issues with support today, scheduled the VAC appointment for tomorrow afternoon and are heading to medical exam early tomorrow morning hopefully get both down same day. We are getting copies of all documents laid out for tomorrow and should be good.

One other question regarding passport pickup. Assuming the interview goes good and they take the passport to prepare the visa, how long has it taken for others to have it ready for pickup? Better to request pickup for the VAC or for a mailboxes etc. location? (we are close to the one in Gascue)

Usually takes about a week to 10 days.. Sometimes sooner. My wife's was ready 4 days after. It all depends. Haha. I'd suggest the one at galería 360 just because they handle the most. But you can get it to any mailboxes etc. So it's your call on that one.

Update for anyone who may find this thread searching for info in Santo Domingo. We went to medical exam at Consultorios de Visa February 11, arrived at 5am, done at 9:30. Cost was a little less than 24,000 in pesos. Returned today and picked up the ‘results’. Was only one page outlining vaccinations that we were told was for immigration in the US. Our appointment is next Monday March 2nd. Will update again with outcome and what Consular officer asked about - hopefully it goes well. All documents are ready and we should be good. Also, regarding the public charge rules now in effect, I am not sure from all I have read if new rules will apply at or interview or not. We were documentarily  Qualfied Dec 12 2019 but being unsure we purchased a stand alone health plan just for my wife to have for the interview so we can avoid any issues with insurance requirements for public charge. Will let the group know how it goes next Monday. Wish us luck! Thanks again to everyone who has answered questions here - your advice has been spot on! Hopefully sharing some of our process can help others here.
