I don't think the attorney has a clue what he is doing ...

Well he did take the client's ability to "do things" on their own.

Is the attorney filling out the DS-160, pay the fee at BPI and doing the medical for you too?

You have to take the initiative or keep waiting.

We would have been delayed at least a month if my asawa hadn't spoken up at the end of her interview when the CO was going to issue a 221(g) for their erroneous math calculation.

Did you guys use an attorney also?  I found so many mistakes ours made that I had to correct.

Great news! We received our packet 3 in the mail. It took about 17 days total.

(and you had to call to get the embassy to actually send it ;)  )

So you got a letter with a link to the embassy website finally  ... and that is 17 days wasted.

You could be a poster child for why to NOT use an attorney.

Hopefully your lawyer will get things done quickly now  (even though you will be doing the majority)

No the letter was mailed before I called.   We just barely got it today.  What a relief.  Yeah, the problem is now I have to wait for the attorney to schedule it.  How long is that going to take?  Nobody knows. :(

For "most" the visa application process/interview* takes about 30 days (or less even) from the time CEAC status shows READY.

Have you been gathering the required documents or waiting for your lawyer?

Now sure how long it will take for you ..  "most" don't drag an anchor  ;)

*

Gather required documents

Pay the visa fee at BPI

Create your acct/profile, then schedule the interview

Complete the Medical

Complete the interview

~

Complete CFO  (not an embassy requirement .. this is Philippines only)

The attorney does not have to schedule it.  After you complete the DS-260 you schedule it.

They won't give me a choice.  When I ask them they either don't reply or tell me to kindly wait for further instructions. :( :(

You realize you didn't sell them your soul or freewill?   You have the instructions, do the visa form, pay the fee and schedule the interview and medical.  You might have been done by now by taking the initiative.

You can also get ahead of the game by doing the CFO during the wait.
