I can't believe this BS is happening:

Like what in the USCIS' name is happening?  Why are March 2023 cases being issued cards within weeks or months?  I am hoping I am misreading or misinterpreting this.

You're not misreading. This is how USCIS operates unfortunately.

According to another user from another thread I posted, it appears this is their new approach to lowering the processing times for 751.  So, rather than working from oldest to newest, they are processing all the new cases submitted now within weeks to a month.  SMH.

At this point how do you think is it better to start N-400 now? Just checked processing time for Potomac - went up to 29 months

It will definitely be personal preference and how soon you want to be done with USCIS.  It appears you filed in October 2021, so you might be at the point you just want to be done.  If you have the money to pay the fees, and you still fall within the 3-year rule, then you should definitely apply to get it done.  It might or it might not "shake it loose", but at least you would have filed everything you needed and you could be done with both.

We will not be applying on our exact 1 year mark (AKA September 2023).  But, we are likely to apply like you closer to the two year mark like Spring-Summer 2024.

Timeline

Had a combo interview yesterday. Both went smooth, great IO. Was contacted by field office to bring my spouse. My spouse went with me but the security never let her in and said if IO wants her they’ll call her. As soon as IO approached me, he asked about my spouse and I told him what security did and said. IO thought for few secs and said, “hmm okay if we need her then we’ll call her”. He went on to approve my I-751 without needing my spouse which worked out perfectly fine because my spouse wasn’t feeling well anyways. It was so weird and emotional to see my file in front of me going all the way back to all different applications we had filed over the years. All right there in one folder.
All in all, great experience! All approved and now waiting to be scheduled for oath ceremony.

i-751 —> July 2021, Potomac

n400 —> July 2022.

for everyone trying to figure out USCIS pattern, please don’t and save your brain cells. Processing is not really done in sequence and it’s sporadic. If you file N400 then sooner or later, by the time the field office reaches to process your N400, they will have to seek for your I-751 and pull that out so do as you will but just wait around with patience as your opportunity will come and don’t compare yourself to others situation, I say this from experience.

All the best to everyone on their journey!!!

181 days since they received my case, no other update other than we received your case. No fingerprint reuse or have been scheduled notification.

Have you received your extension letter?

If yes, you're just waiting for the next stage.

281 days for us and we also have not received any of that - except the 28-month extension letter.  This is extremely "normal" for Potomac - the center of deceased cases.

854 days since they received my package.  We did fingerprints and have received three extension letters.  Still waiting and can't make an inquiry for a few more months.

I am assuming you have not filed for N400.
