POTOMAC (YSC) I-751 Non Transferred Filers ONLY...

Filed ROC September 2019, Biometrics January 2020. Haven't heard anything since. Online status never updated after biometrics. It's still showing Case was Received. 

 

I'm seeing others LIN, EAC etc with aug/sep dates getting approved. Is it true that they're mostly approving without interviews now because of COVID?

 

Why is YSC not showing up on VJ timelines?

I think we both have very similar timeline. 

My case was approved on July 16,2020 

without interview took about 11months.

congrats! did you mean 13 months though? from june 2019 to july 2020 is 13 months, not 11.

I know this forum is for OG Potomac filers, but I'm pretty pissed off at the moment. We sent our packet to Texas as per the instructions, but our NOA came from Potomac. Had biometrics in November and NOTHING since then. Meanwhile, people who filed after us in Texas are getting approved.

Package received by uscis: 07/09

Credit card charged: 07/14

Text notification: 07/16

Biometrics (didn't need an appointment, they used the previous one: case was updated to show fingerprints were taken) :  07/22

I'm sorry the process is so slow. The DC area, including Arlington where Potomac Center is, has been slow down because of covid. Things are coming back to normal but I'm not even sure if things are back to normal at 100% at USCIS (like some agencies only allow around  30% of their workers at the same time in the office or are still fully teleworking).

Hey, i understand where you are coming from. But one thing I want to share with you is that, just because you sent your packet to Texas, that you'll get Texas as your service center. The place you sent to in Texas is just a lockbox, where they receive, scan, sort and then send off your application on to the service center it needs to go to. Some people go to NBC in Nebraska if they will (most probably) need to be interviewed, others go to California, or even the actual service center in Texas. USCIS assigns cases to service centers based on the balancing work load of the service centers is what I read.

Oh yeah I totally get that. I'm just annoyed because there seems to be no rhyme or reason about who gets approved when. I thought it was supposed to be first in first out, but it's just frustrating for me (and for all of us) when people who applied after get approved before others.

Yeah, everything is kind of in turmoil right now for sure.

i totally get you! there was a spate of approvals coming out of texas from the feb and mar 2020(!) groups i think. i did learn though that last year, potomac was the fastest, they were approving cases in 6 months. i know somebody who got approved in that time frame there, they filed in june 2019 got approved jan 2020. so i guess it's just the luck of the draw and how the load (and now with covid, location) is at your service center. it's like the wheel, one day, one center is up, the next day, that same center is down.

Oh totally. We are just worried because we are finally having our wedding celebration that we couldn't afford before in England next June, and on top of COVID worries, my husbands extension letter expires in April. I know they aren't issuing the stamps right now, so we are slightly concerned.

hang in there (easier said than done i know). recent approvals from potomac i read on here were at 13 months so your case could be closer to the top of the pile already and  you could get approved before april i think!
