Yeap mine is divorce waiver also. I mean my ex was abusive and was trying to kill me. I still paid for the application didn't want to try to prove he was abusive even tho I have restraining order on him.

I finally was able to submit out of processing time. At least now I have a date to look for.

You did the right thing by doing a divorce waiver vs abuse waiver, otherwise it would take even longer!
Did you apply for i751 already divorced? I applied jointly but got divorced a year into my application being at Potomac, so mine had to be switched.

Keep us posted on what the review says! I will submit mine soon too!

Hey Anna,

Got a question for you. So I am in somewhat similar situation. We applied jointly, but now are in middle of divorce process. This divorce takes so freaking long... Started in mid Feb and I see completion around August..

Question is, did you inform USCIS right away about your divorce proceedings? My issue is that even if I tell them now, they will issue me an  RFE to respond to within 87 days...I am unsure that I will have the final decree within 87 days. My lawyer suggests not to take any action right now until I have the decree but my issue is that I dont want USCIS to think I was hiding anything from them or lying to them as I clearly am not

To further complicate problems, I am also expecting a decision on my Nov 2019 joint application anytime in 2-4 months

I totally understand your concerns! I got lucky somehow, my divorce was finalized within a month! It ended up costing me an arm and a leg but with the lawyer’s help it was very fast and easy. That’s why I didn’t notify USCIS ahead of time, once I received the divorce decree I sent it with an explanation letter requesting a divorce waiver. So I am not sure what to advise in your situation. If you feel like the proceedings are going to take forever, maybe it’s best to notify them. I just knew from the start my divorce wouldn’t take long, so I ‘risked’ it. Regardless they will only be able to approve your application once they have your divorce decree!

Literally. 3.5 years??? That’s out of control. I would reach out to your US  Senator and have them shake the tree.

Definitely get the I-551 stamp. I would even bring more evidence of Bona fide marriage to that appointment. Don’t know if that would make a difference but that would be my first instinct.

did you apply for naturalization ?

Oops! 2019 not 2017. Stupid fingers typing too fast.

And no, not applied for naturalization, yet. Wanted to get the removal of conditions, first.

My case just updated to New card is being produced. My receipt is YSC2090039***, Oct 31st 2019.

Hey Clara, thanks for the info. I have the exact same filing date as yours, but my case was updated to "Correspondence Was Received And USCIS Is Reviewing It" two weeks ago and stuck since.

Was your case also updated to that before approved? And did you apply for citizenship?

Thanks!

Case updated today to new card is being produced. Filing date Nov 05 2019. Went straight from case received (biometrics never updated on the system).

Seeing your filing date be three days before mine is starting to give me hope Potomac will be looking at mine, soon.

Congratulations! So yours took 19.5 months, which is falls exactly within their 19.5-21.5 months processing time range.
