Yeah I triple checked because I thought the same thing.  So strange.  At this point, I am just praying we get the damn 48 month extension in the mail soon.

I would reach out to USCIS.  It could have been an error on their end.  But, you definitely want all of them to tie.

Just recieved a phone call from USCIS becasue I requested to get a stamp in my passport since I never got the 48 m extention letter and 24M expired. The lady on the phone told me I dont need to come in for a stamp becasue they mailed my 48M letter on March 8th and my case is "still withing normal proccesing time". And one of my friends got hers in the mail last week. Idk how is 2+years is a normall proccesing time but at least I'll have a notice.

When is your appointment and do you have usps informed delivery?

If you have the chance to receive the 48 months extension soon it might be worthwhile to wait for it because at the stamp appointment there's a big chance they will take your green card and then you will have to keep renewing it every year.

My wife got her passport stamped in November.  She kept her green card.  The officer said she may need it when going through immigration.

She was asked for the expired green card and letter and passport stamp going to and from Vietnam.  It was a bit of a problem in Vietnam as most had never seen the stamp before and focused on the expired documents.

I should add that the passport stamp required "special processing" at JFK last month.  The officer did require her green card and expired extension letter.  After going through the immigration line, we were all led to a side room by a guard and sat in a waiting room.  They have to look up each passport 551 stamp in a computer system and verify with the expired documents.  It took about 10-15 minutes for them to approve my wife and daughter's entry.  Kind of stressful because they were not very pleasant and didn't explain what was going on.

October 2021 filler. Just got 48 months extension letter from USCIS. Looks like that Potomac service center is the slowest one 😞 Starting to think about filing N-400 now

Mine got stamped today, in the Fairfax, VA field office.  I also got to keep my expired Green Card.

That's been the case for me for the last 2 years, ever since my 2-year Green Card expired.  Going through secondary every single time I arrived at IAD.  I've gotten used to it.

Informed Delivery shows what is likely my husband's 48 month extension letter.  I am very relieved.  I was dreading calling to make an appointment for an infopass.  It's better than nothing  I guess.

Husband just got his 48 month extension letter today. Jan 2021 filer. Why in the heck is Potomac soooo slow? Guess it's time to file N400. We were waiting to see if the 10 year came at the 2 year mark, and didn't want it to get transferred right before we might be done, but it seems like there's no point in waiting now. Crazy!

Does getting 48month extension letter mean it’s gonna take longer for Potomac to process the case? A lot of people around my case # have already been approved. What is causing Potomac to be so slow?

I-751 petitions are slow everywhere nowadays, because N-400 and other cases are prioritized. If people around your case are approved, it could be a matter of weeks / few months to get your case approved. But there's no guarantees. You may be waiting way longer.
