Thanks to all that took time to reply. The church said that we must do all preparations as normal and that they would hold off filing the papers until after we are married in the US. But that makes us nervous that something could go wrong. So we plan now to have the best resemblance of wedding celebration that we can before leaving for the US. It's important to do it early and not wait until we return to the Philippines. Good luck to everyone!

Definitely risky.  Many many  have posted on here about being denied after having a non-legal ceremony in their country.  But you know the risks so the decision is yours.

File the papers later?   Filing marriage documents in the Phils?     ...   nics for sure.

 

Have the wedding party without any vows ...  be very careful in that area.
