In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

The CNN articles states "Trump's current 49% approval puts him ahead of where his predecessor -- Barack Obama -- was at this same time in his first term. (Obama was at 46% approval.) Which is absolutely remarkable, given the first 3+ years of Trump's presidency and the fact that he became just the third president in American history to be impeached by the House last month."

   Ahh. Perhaps you could have made that clearer. I think Obama's high was 59%. Hopefully Trump can best that. Pushing past 50% means you are getting more support from outside of your base. As of the moment, more important than the actual number is that the upward trend seems to be coming from independent voters. Good news for Trump, and ominous for the Democrats.

It's unknown how many "Shy Trumpers" are out there, too -- folks who won't answer pollsters; and even more who won't put out yard signs or display bumper-stickers, for fear of getting their houses or cars firebombed.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

  I think you are exaggerating a bit, but I do think some people are keeping it to themselves. Trump is not all that popular in Colorado, but I don't really see anyone shy about expressing their support. I see bumper stickers and hats all the time. My observation has been that however anyone feels about him, they express it pretty strongly. People love him or hate him and I don't think there are a whole lot of people in the middle, but there are some and they are important as a voting block goes.

 

  I think the real question is how many people who were on the fence last time have moved over to where they are going to vote for Trump. Familiarity always tends to favor the incumbent. Democrats are not really doing anything to attract moderates . I guess we'll find out in 9 months.

His web/IT guy, Brad Parscale, analyzes the attendance at every rally and announces how many attendees are Democrats, how many did or didn't vote in 2016, etc.  If the numbers are to be believed, there are a LOT of move-overs.
