K-1 Process and applying for Global Entry

This may sound like a silly question, but I'm so cautious and I want to make sure I'm not making any mistakes due to not asking questions! 🙂

We're waiting for the NOA2. I'm the petitioner and I have a trip scheduled for March to see my fiance. Was going to apply for Global Entry today as it takes a bit to get an answer as far as I was told. Does anybody know if it's ok to do that while the process for K-1 is pending?

And I've just realized I've posted in the wrong area of the forum! So sorry!! 😅

I see no reason to think there is any problem at all in applying for GE during the process.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

If your country of citizenship is eligible for Global Entry, you can apply for it. Do note it does take multiple months to complete the application, interview and etc. if you’re planning to apply now and travel in March, you won’t have it by then.

I’ve been waiting 13 weeks already so if your trip is in March I highly doubt that you would be approved by then. Even with an approval you most likely need an interview which also takes time

I'm just going to apply today hoping that it makes a bit of a difference to be a US citizen? 😄  We shall see. Who knows?

Probably not. Just apply and finish it when you return from your trip. Global Entry includes TSAPre, so applying for one then the other is an increased cost to you.

You are fine to do Global Entry.  TSA-Pre only covers departures, not international arrivals.  Once you have the conditional approval you can do the interview.   If you are lucky enough to get it before you return to the US you can do the interview at the immigration area of the airport.
