You seem hung up on the length of the relationship. That’s only a small part of the picture. When deciding whether to approve or deny a visa, they look at the whole picture.

Can you give us some background on how you met, what the age difference is, of she had been married before or has children, whether she has petitioned for anyone before, whether you have been married before, whether you have been petitioned before or applied for a US visa before?

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

I have a family in the US living there for over 30 years. She's my cousin best friend she Introduced her to me through Facebook. There's no age gap like I mentioned above. She never got married nether do I. No children for both. Never applied for a US visa in my life.

Hey everyone. I know you've probably read about this topic more than once and I'm pretty sure there's a lot of debating going on whether  the CR1 is better or K1.

However, my question is: What If the couple applied too soon after meeting? My fiance and i been communicating online for like few months. She visited me once and thought of applying right after. We don't want it to seem suspicious even though It's not. In this case, what should we do? K1 or CR1? A lot suggested us to go with CR1 because " It's cheaper and more guaranteed "I feel like If we applied for CR1, there wouldn't be a lot of evidence and we could get denied which makes me choose to go the K1 route instead. I've been reading and watching videos online saying applying after meeting could be something risky so I'm confused. Correct me If I'm wrong! We are confused and looking for answers.

My fiance and I met once, for  9-days and we filed shortly after. They didn't questioned it at all. We got the K1 Visa and we're happily married here in the USA waiting on our adjustment of status. The Consular Officers aren't dumb and they've seen it all. They can tell those who are genuine from those who aren't. My advise is to follow the instructions for filing, follow your hearts and go for what your hearts tell you. A bit romantic, maybe!! but hey, Valentine day is close enough. Best of wishes to you and your fiance.

She's with me right now as I'm typing. We both are reading the responses we are getting.

Nawras, I have to chime in here. We have to remember we are dealing with a MENA country. Jordan has gotten a little more difficult to deal with the last 12 months with K 1 and I know that because me and my fiancé are K 1 we demonstrated everything perfectly. We had enough screen time and FaceTime before filing.  We are in administrative processing now for five months. My suggestion to you is go CR1. We wanted to go see CR1 and we regret not doing so. Your chances of approval on much better. Everything all the other posters have shared with you is spot on. Just make sure you still have plenty of evidence and documentation.
