Aforementioned CBP boarding manual. Every airline flying to the US has this somewhere. If you want to be paranoid about being denied boarding, find the page that is relevant to you and print it out and get them to look it up themselves.

The exemption from 6-month list is on page 11.

Sure, there is a possibility that she encounters a problem due to the airline's mistake or lack of knowledge. However, that is generally the exception, not the rule. Sometimes it takes effort to get it resolved (bring the document linked ITT), but "doubtful" that they would be boarded is, itself, doubtful.

Your example is for a flight to Thailand not for a flight to the US, so not an applicable example. There is no point arguing here. Of course you may encounter an uninformed airline personnel but what matters here is the law. No need to scare the OP

The referenced document you quoted states that the USA has reciprocal relationships with Thailand on this rule.

In the reference I cited, Timatic clearly said the passenger could board.

And the passenger wasn't board.

You are right, there is no need to argue. I've my opinion, backed my over 2 million miles flying and plenty of reading of travel websites contributed to by people with even more experience. I stand by my opinion.

The law is irrelevant if the airline won't board, period.

Plonk.

You can have your opinion. The vast majority of people who travel in a similar situation have no problems traveling and are boarded onto flights everyday. The point of this thread is to be helpful to the OP and what is helpful is to inform them of the law and to provide them with information and material in case they do run into any issues, which some of us have done.

OP As long as the passport is valid for the duration of the visit they will be fine. @SusieQQQ was kind enough to link the CBP manual above. In the unlikely event that you run into any trouble you can reference that and/or keep asking for a more senior person to talk to. You will be boarded
