USCIS website and USPS tracking say my wife's EAD card was delivered to my mailbox - but to a city 1,000 miles away

My wife and I live in Las Vegas.

We received USCIS updates this week that her EAD card was approved Monday and then mailed Thursday.

Yesterday (Saturday) I got an update from USCIS saying the card was delivered to our mailbox and it gave us the USPS tracking number.

No card in our mailbox.

Went to the USPS website, and it shows it delivered yesterday to mailbox in Houston 77080.

We have no connection to Houston.

I'm wondering what might be going on. Maybe USCIS just gave me the wrong tracking number for someone else whose card was mailed on the same day from Corbin, Kentucky to Houston.  Maybe my wife's EAD card hasn't been approved at all and I'm getting updates for someone else entirely, who lives in Houston.   Or maybe my wife's EAD card was approved and then mailed to Houston for some reason.

I'll wait and see if it arrives tomorrow before taking this up with the post office and USCIS but does anyone have any info or ideas in the meantime? Has this happened to anyone else?

I live in Las Vegas also, took about a week to show up in the mailbox after they said approved on the update. They use priority mail, but that seems a little fast. think you got the wrong tracking number, I would give it a day or so. Have you signed up for informed delivery? that's where you get images of your mail emailed to you when it comes thru the sorting center, and you will know at around 9am what is coming to your mailbox that day. It works great to know if I have to walk to the mailbox or not. Nothing important in the email, I don't go to the box. Saves me from walking every day to the mailbox ( Guess I'm that lazy. LOL)

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

Yeah, I'm hoping they just gave me someone else's tracking number who had mail sent that day. I'm pretty sure they didn't give me a mistyped fat finger tracking number, because that would give me an error message, the tracing number they sent me shows someone being mailed something from Corbin Kentucky, which is where USCIS mails stuff from.

Her I-765, I-131, and I-485 have sequential numbers.  We got the I-797Cs delivered here to Las Vegas no problem.  And her I-485 was also updated Monday to say "Ready for Interview."  I imagine that's related to her EAD card being finished?  So that weighs against the theory of "They are updating us about someone else's EAD card being approved and mailed."

But if she has been approved, it's about a month faster than anyone else on VJ reporting recent non-expedited EAD approvals.  Her NOA was Nov. 21 and biometrics done on Dec. 19.   Oh, and on Nov. 25 there was an odd update to her I-765 saying "fingerprints were taken" which they weren't.  So those oddities suggest maybe her I-765 actually hasn't been approved yet.

I do have informed delivery, but it's not 100% accurate, as you have probably noticed.

Well, mystery solved. I had mistyped 2 digits on the USCIS case status website for the EAD application and I was getting updates for someone else. And it's just a coincidence that this person had his/her EAD approved on the same day that USCIS (correctly) informed me of the I-485 being  ready for interview. My wife's EAD has not been approved yet.
