I was going to share this last week but didn't want to be the bearer of bad news :(

It scares me a lot to be honest. But if this were true, how are people getting approved without interviews or getting RFEs? They must be processing it right?

Anyone who filed in mid april or anytime during the pandemic get a bio metrics appointment since the USCIS has opened back up its offices?

Hello, you might have better luck here:

We all filed in January so our timelines will not align with yours. Best of luck!

Toward the end of the article it says "

The USCIS acknowledged it posted that material on “an internal webpage used by headquarters staff to maintain records of guidance“ but said it contained “incorrect information“ and has since been taken down.

“The dates in the post and the reference to the executive order were incorrect,” the agency said. “This post has been removed and does not reflect current adjudication guidance.”

Surely they have to exempt spouses of US Citizens. If anything, I am sure this will get walked back (like all other Trump started issues) and have a bunch of exemptions. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

This part made me feel better too. However, I interpreted it as saying that they are still putting the applications on hold but the specific reference and dates of the executive order as reasoning for the hold were not correct in the memo, so then I felt worried once more.

I agree. I would hope they exempt spouses of USCs because that has been exempted so far in everything, but they didn't specifically cite spouses as one of the exemptions (like they did with medical professionals).

The article specifically says that there is no changes to the current adjudication process.

toward the end it says"

“This post has been removed and does not reflect current adjudication guidance.”

Yeah I really don't think they're putting anything on hold. Especially because people are getting updates on their cases.

This is the January group, I think we're all good with biometrics. Also only the field offices are open now. The application support centers are still closed for public.

What do you need? Like what is your reason?

I got it done today and responded to their expedite request for supporting documents. I sent a letter from my job with the dates i'll be on summer break and also my doctor to show my due date.

I POSTED A FEW POST UP EXPLAINING MY SITUATION.

So sorry I didn't check my VJ account over the weekend.

No change as of this morning yet :( Feeling a bit disappointed honestly as I was expecting something today. But I'm trying to be really positive! I will give it this week and call on Thursday so that I can speak with a Tier 2 on Friday if needed.

I used to work in Capitol Hill before I quit for another job (which rescinded my offer due to COVID :( )

It's crazy how different it looks now! I am sure you've been keeping up with all the news of CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone). Basically it's a 6-block area where the East Precinct of Seattle PD has abandoned any police presence there and protesters have covered it with BLM murals, poetry readings, even makeshift cafes! It's quite a sight. The protesters are not allowing any police to enter the 6-block area (unless of a real emergency). It's made national news!

How are things in Spokane? Any protests over there?

I hope you and family are healthy and keeping safe in this historic time too. It can get really overwhelming and depressing at times, so try to stay positive (which I'm sure you do!) It's hard to celebrate the EAD because my husband says even though he can finally work and travel, the job market is in shambles!

I hope you can visit your grandmother soon - West Seattle Bridge is indefinitely closed so a lot of people who live there don't even come to main Seattle anymore, which in this time is a good thing!

It’s all good! There’s no hurry to reply. 🙂

I know you will get good news soon, keep us posted. I will continue sending good vibes for you. 🥳🌈

Yes, I have read about the CHAZ area in Capitol Hill and think it’s crazy how quickly everything has changed. When it is ‘safe’ to visit there eventually, I’d be interested in going to take a look.

I didn’t know the bridge closure was indefinite. It’s obviously a good thing that people are staying away from the main city but I also imagine  it has caused a lot more disruption.  I personally love West Seattle and would be happy just staying in that area. It definitely suits our Gma! 🙂

Im sorry to hear about all the issues with work and COVID.  Where abouts do you live?  Who knows maybe one day our paths will cross! 😃

Things are going okay here at the moment. Certainly not as intense as Seattle but it’s a much smaller city so that’s a given. I think my local office is open again and I’m hoping I’ll hear about my rescheduled GC Interview soon too! 🙂

Will do!! I live in North Seattle by the Broadview neighborhood. Right outside the gated community where it is rumored the descendants of Nordstrom live. A few years ago Obama came to visit the house across the street from us and it was quite a sight. We had a massive SWAT van park on our driveway. I remember them asking when the house was built because apparently the weight of the armored truck cracked driveways before 😬

It would be nice to cross paths! It’s always nice to connect with people in similar situations - I feel like conversation is easier due to a familiar starting point :)

It wasn’t supposed to be indefinite, but from what I remember reading they don’t have a date yet of when to fix the cracks in the bridge so definitely it’s been tougher for people to travel back and forth. Rumor has it a lot of people are leaving WS because of plummeting property value due to the closure. 2020 just sucks.

I am sending ALL the good vibes your way!! Spokane is so fast with GC processing so I am not even worried about your case!! I am worried about mine because Seattle has a 17 month timeline HAHA

Significant movement on EAD card productions noticed on search today (including mine); 1/23 NOA 1 date.

No expedite, San Francisco field office for me.

It’s been pretty slow with movement around my date lately, good to see things are pushing along!
