Maybe the 1000 people they are making redunandant work early on in the application, don't most RFEs come early for basic errors? Then the USCIS workers which aren't being made redundant are the ones that approve our EAD. Maybe it'll have little effect on our processing time 🤔 because most of the January AOSs have already been looked at at the NVC (and the i485s passed to the local field offices) maybe the part this contracting company get involved has already happened.

Thanks, didn't actually think he's able to apply for any job without a social security number

He won't need the SSN until he accepted a job offer and wants to get paid 😊

He can apply as much as he want to. Get a job offer, get the EAD expedited with it and hopefully he'll receive his SSN about a week after the EAD so that he can start working.

Hoping for someone to chime in with some suggestions for me!

expedite was approved on May 15. Job starts on a June 8th. If no approval by then I run the risk of forfeiting my job offer. I’m literally ill over this devastating news. What can I do to get this pushed. With the expedite for EAD approved I thought my days of ‘pushing’ were behind me.

Suggestions welcome! Aaaaaand, GO!

Woke up to great news! Sent a request to expedite my husband’s EAD on Wednesday night and by Thursday morning received an email asking for proof of job offer. We sent it over that night and today woke up to new card is being produced :) I don’t know it was because of the expedite request or it was approved without it but great news regardless!!

That’s incredible news!! Congrats! When does the job start?

Did you tried to talk to somebody again? That's the only thing I can think of. Not super awesome I know 😕

But my fortune cookie yesterday said that happy news are on the way to me so I hope that the cookie is right 😁

I tried calling. They would not send me to tier 2. I’m gonna try back.

I was thinking about trying the same thing. Why wouldn't they transfer you?

Because if they deem your need to speak with tier 2 “unnecessary” they just tell you to wait. I didn’t want to waste any more time with that rep. I’ll call back. I guess the trick is to give as little information as possible to the first rep. I dunno.

right, I will give it a try and let you know what they say.

I got my first job offer today!! Hooraayy!! While I am not going to accept their first offer I was wondering what could still happen that they would not be able to hire me because of some USCIS bs. I am still concerned about all the background checks and because we don't have a greencard but just an EAD which seems to have a lower value to some employers. I don't have anything to hide and no entries in my police records, and the offer is from a large global company with more than 60K employees.

2023-02-20: Mailed package to Phoenix Lockbox with UPS Ground

2023-02-27: Package was delivered

2023-03-02: Received text that case was received with SRC case #

2023-03-03: Money order was cashed

2023-03-09: Received 48 months extension letter in mail

2023-05-20: Greencard expired

2024-10-04: Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken

2024-10-07: New Card Is Being Produced

I don’t understand. Why would you not accept the offer. I mean, hopefully not because of the EAD thing. What is to be concerned about? I mean, all they care about is that you’re authorized to work and won’t require sponsorship in the future.

I am not accepting their first offer; I am starting the negotiations :) I am super excited about the opportunity but they mentioned a salary first and I would get in trouble with my husband if I had accepted the first offer haha. I will ask for more.

Ooooh I see. Sorry, I thought you said that you would not accept as you only had an EAD. I see. Yeah, you go girl - get as much as you can!

The offer I received a few weeks ago was right on par with what my expectations were. And it’s 100% work from home. That’s a huge bonus for me.

Good Luck!
