Ok! Kind of freaking out.
Accepted a job offer. Requested expedite, which was approved last Friday. But still no approved EAD or SSN.

everything is moving so quickly and I don’t know what to do. The job wants/needs this info ASAP. Eek.

I literally applied for anything and everything in my field. I have a Bachelor of Health Admin degree and was seriously applying to everything medical related. Even entry level positions. Thankfully, I was hired into a position that was in my scope of experience.

My job is non-medical.

When is your start date and have you attempted to explain to your employer why you don’t have an SSN. I feel like I need to tread lightly - no one outside of the immigration community seems to understand.

I am already working for my employer on a different status, so I already have an SSN.

Oh that’s perfect then. I won’t stop sweating about this till I get it. Mildly freaking out.

Well not perfect. That status expires in a couple weeks. So I am about to lose my job :(.

I’m am more than confident that your expedite will come through before your few weeks is up. Totally confident.

@Zsazsa Hey! When is your start date? They are waiting for your I-9, so don’t talk to your recruiter because they won’t get it. Talk to the onboarding specialist who is trained to have some background in which legal docs are allowed and explain your situation (it should only be another week till you receive the card) and try to stall as much as possible! You will be absolutely fine! Congrats :)

Another question for @Zsazsa and @Letspaintcookies that I couldn’t weed out from the info in the expedite thread -

how long after your phone call did you receive an email? We called monday for an expedite but nothing yet.

Received it the next morning but I heard from others that they received a letter instead of an email. So that took about a week
