They do say that that's the moment when they make decision and it could be denied but I wouldn't expect that. New update in between? I had the card is being produced update about an hour later.

No update about card being produced but I am thankful that The request was approved. My last request months ago was denied.

Welcome @mercytembo, I am also from Rhode Island. Check out my timeline. I submitted my AOS/EAD/AP on Jan 25. They are starting to process December applications now, I believe.

you would think that processing would be faster here as we are such a small state - but that does not appear to be the case unfortunately.

Wishing you all the best during these final stages of the process.

@rocoblue

My wife and I got married in December too. We went to HR Block for assitance regarding the chance of filing jointly with foreing income.

The accountant helped us out with everything, I had to just tell her a good estimate on my earnings in Chile (2019), and she told us it would all be exempt on our joint filing.

Like I said in the other post, I saved my wife $500 in tax payment, and she got $80 back. Although HR Block charged us something in between $100-$200, it was totally worth it, considering we also got our stimulus money very fast.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the input. I guess where she was working from is not under tax treaty as to what@Letspaintcookies said. I checked it too. Yeah maybe that was the reason. Thaaanks!

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing as well as possible under current circumstances!

my job hunting has been super slow going too... a few interviews but a lot of them are hiring for later on in the year.

My husband and I decided to try to apply for the EAD expedite. Do you all have any tips since it seems like a lot of people are being approved? I call USCIS and ask for an expedite request and then they send me a fax to email them supporting docs? Or how does it work?

Just the other way around. They sent you an email to fax them supporting docs. But with the rest you're right 😉😊

Woops! Thank you for catching that 😅

do you have any tips for providing documentation? Both of us are out of a job but were not paying any bills.

If our expedite is denied does our application go to the back of the queue?

Hello!

I submitted a request for expedite back in Feb and was denied. Application does not go to back of queue, it just does not get pushed forward.

I have had a few job offers this week. Yeah, all at once. I requested another expedite last week and provided one of the job offers as proof as the request was approved.

I have been sending out resumes for about 2 months straight and only now is it starting to pay off - most likely as different states prepare to open back up.

best of luck!

Thank you @Letspaintcookies and @Zsazsa for your replies!

i do have one question: Did you ask to expedite both EAD and AP or just the EAD and they automatically sent a combo card?

I contacted the Senators office for assistance and only requested expedite of EAD

The Senators office came back and asked me for my I-485 receipt number. Does that mean they will expedite my GC, too? Ooooh hope so! My real concern is that they process my cases with my kids’ cases as they need SSNs too. Not to work, as they are young, but to be able to get healthcare and such.

When you request an expedite, they only ask for one receipt number - my EAD was most important - which is why I gave them that.

best of luck!
