I had my case status changed to Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview 6 days before my expedite request was approved

How long after your expedite approval did you get your EAD approved? Just curious. Super stoked for you

Check out my timeline, I've put when I received status changes etc. in the comments under my AOS section. :)

You won't get any mail from USCIS when you get a "ready to schedule" update - only when it's actually scheduled (and they send you an appointment date) or they approve you without one. Ready to schedule just means your local office has your file and will schedule (or approve) you when their availability allows.

I haven't had any status updates or movement on me EAD/AP since biometrics, and I got my SSN before I filed. If you checked the box for a SSN in your AOS papers you won't get it until after your green card arrives afaik.

So you received your green card that quickly from a K1 Visa? At this point the EAD/AP is not needed for you correct? As you now are a green card holder?

Congrats BTW

Yea one of our lucky ones 😊

You're right EAD/ AP card doesn't matter anymore at that point

Yep @Charlesvb12, exactly as Letspaintcookies says above. The green card renders the EAD/AP obsolete (once upon a time they used to always be issued first so you can work/travel while the green card application processes, as I understand, but now there is more of a backlog at the NBC and local offices are getting to green cards faster which leads to some green cards being issued first).

Some people in this very thread have had EAD/AP approved very quickly, but I had no update on EAD/AP since biometrics whereas my AOS moved very fast.

I mailed out my AOS Packet April 9th, still waiting for NOA1. With trump talking about stopping immigration into the US will that be an issue for my wife and I? Or is that more so people still in other countries in the process of getting here on K1 and other visas?

Not for people already here with a valid visa I think, but there's a mega thread in the COVID-19 board about that where you might get more info.

If you only just mailed AOS the process will slow down until offices open and fingerprints can be taken. Those of us who have been approved quickly had our biometrics appointments before everything shut down.

Edit: there should be an April 2020 filers thread here with people in your scenario who will share updates as they get them, that will help you with an idea of how things are progressing.

Wow, 2020 is an interesting one 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ Again, I am beyond grateful not to be in the K1 process anymore. These speculations about who’s going to be affected by the executive order are really scary, but I just hope that USCIS offices will open soon and we’ll get our interviews or that interviews will be waived for everyone who’s „ready to be scheduled“. I hope you’re all doing okay!! I had a bit of a moment yesterday when I heard the news, the frustration is real and it’s scary not knowing what’s going to happen, but I‘m almost certain we’re on the safest side possible immigration wise. It’s gonna be fine.. hang in there everyone. Praying for a wave of interview waivers 🧡

Don’t know if this was posted on here or not. If so, apologies for the repetition. I was very happy to read this.

Refugees and asylum seekers would not be affected by the order, nor would spouses and children of U.S. citizens or permanent residents.”
