I know I wont get an interview until they open back up but some people been getting approved without going to an interview. Thank u

Yes but what they have in common is that they had an interview scheduled which was then cancelled because of the on going situation.

Yep! They cancelled my interview and now they simply approved my AOS without one. There are a few people this has happened to so far, maybe there's some internal guidance that is letting them waive some interviews given the closure and cancellations.

Congrats!!! Happy for you

I had an idea and wanted to hear yall's opinions on it. With my application I only sent the marriage certificate but meanwhile we have quite a lot more happy marriage evidence and I was thinking about sending that to my LFO to strengthen our case in hopes that we might get approved too without an interview even though we never had one scheduled so far.

What do y'all think? Is it worth a shot or just a waste of time and resources on both ends?

I still have the EAD expedite pending and if that works out I'm fine but in case they deny it I was thinking of trying it.

If it helps, my AOS package only included the marriage certificate as marriage-related evidence. It was pretty much a bare bones 'just what's required' package, we didn't front load at all, and still got waived through.

I think it's not a matter of how much evidence you send but how busy your field office is as to whether anything moves with your AOS case in terms of scheduling or approving, and I would guess that adding stuff to it after submission that isn't requested (if they even accept it) probably isn't going to jump you forward in the queue.

Yes I did!

Ohhh ok. Being that you expedited I would assume that your case is unique in the fact that your EAD was produced without a scheduled interview beforehand.

I would think that for typical filers (without expedition) we will likely see an ‘interview ready to be scheduled’ update first.

Since the closure of offices, I haven’t seen anyone get an approval that didn’t already have an interview scheduled. Just an observation.

Same for @nerdcouple .

I always thought that those two things separate latest after 'ready to be scheduled' when there is no RFIE to be expected. Then the AOS part moves to the LFO while the EAD stays at MSC waiting for somebody to touch it and won't be affected anymore from what happens at the LFO. If they would wait till an interview gets scheduled to approve the EAD it wouldn't make sense anymore. Cause the AOS interview is usually 4-6 weeks after the status change

Edit: Reading again I guess this is what you meant 😊🙈

I had my case status changed to Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview 6 days before my expedite request was approved
