We received a 2nd I-797 NOA in the mail yesterday, dated March 13th, For the AP only. It basically states that we’ll use your fingerprints & biometrics that we already have. I don’t understand why this was even sent. Has this happened to anyone else? Aren’t the EAD/AP a combo card? I’m concerned because there was no 2nd mention of the EAD, which is what we are really eager to get.

Our original NOA was dated Jan 15, does this mean we’re starting all over again or what? Please no😭😭😭😭😭

No worries. It happened to a lot of people during the last month. Seems like USCIS made some adjustment to their system. Also a couple of people got approved just a couple days later so this doesn't indicate that the PD date changed. They're still working their application piles just like before. No significant positive or negative changes

I got that fingerprint status and letter on AP Case AFTER my combo card was approved and sent to me (also after both AP/EAD cases were previously approved), so it is still a mystery to me. I wouldn’t give it much thought, seems like a useless status update.

Good luck

Hi guys! Hope all is well despite the pandemic that is happening.

It seems that USAA is taking a long time to add my wife to my account. I’ve been patiently waiting for almost 3 months now. We’ve been sending the required documents but still no answer from them. Was wondering what banks do you guys open with your spouse? That is sure will add my wife to it. A savings account maybe with minimum maintaining balance and affordable fees.

Thanks in advance.

Chase and Bank of America. All they ask for is the passport and a piece of mail addressed to the foreign citizen sent to the mailing address of the account. documents for the US citizen is the usual.

We went with Chase.    If you are in the DFW area, I can give you our banker info.    Also we were able to get an auto loan in both of our names using my credit (petitioner) only which immediately got beneficiary’s credit started which is now 750 rating.     I addrd him on all my credo cards as authorized signer with his new social security number which linked his credit report to them...   this automatically built up his credit rating which was awesome.      The auto loan we got with his name on it is at 2.99%.    So dont fall for the high rates.    Auto loan with credit union:  Las Colinas Federal Credit Union, Irving Texas...  If you need their info, just separately message me.

We are also banking with Chase. They have nice sign up bonuses for savings and checking account. You need direct deposits for their bonus, but I use Transferwire to transfer money from Germany to the US and this triggered the bonus already ;)

Geez! We also uploaded unnecessary documents and the last one they required from my wife was not received by them. We did it multiple times already still haven’t heard from them. So I just gave up and decided to open an account for her

Thanks a lot guys! I appreciate all your replies. I guess we’ll open an account at Chase as most of you recommended it. We’re your account was opened as joint?or the petitioner has to open it first and just add the beneficiary after? Which is easier? I’m planning to just open for my wife cause I already have an account but hesitant cause she doesn’t have the green card yet and it might be difficult for her.

Thank you for the reply.

We opened a new joint as community property and one just in his name as his separate property.  All new accounts.   Very easy and within an hour. 🙂

Thank you for the info! One last question. At the citizen part what did you put Permanent Alien Resident or Temporary Alien Resident?
