I understand that on a personal level. Absolutely. How are you able to work without the EAD

Hi! Did you send your RFIE evidence already? My status just changed today to "Response to USCIS Request for Evidence was received."

No, we sent it yesterday by regular mail as I'm a procrastinator 😆

Hoping that the more staff working on admin means the APs and EADs get processed faster.

Not that is be able to work anyway, my husband's immune system is compromised via chemo and lung cancer so even if I got it, it's probably best not to work for 2 or 3 months while this is going on. I have a job in England I could go back to if I got my ap but they're closed now too.

Stay safe!

It might be possible no one really knows, but it is what makes most sense. I am telling you when I was there on Monday the officers were all given laptops to take home, so they can process things remotely. How they will process things and their timelines is to be seen. I also went to the court on Monday and window filed some things, but now they are officially closed to even window file. Which makes sense I was stuck there with a few people on Monday, more so than a half full giant waiting room.

At offices I doubt they want to get so backlogged, so the only thing like they can seem to do at the moment is to process cases minus the human interaction parts to it. Hopefully we see a more lenient interview waiver. It is not unheard of. A lot of petitions from children to older parents get their interviews waived. Of course, I believe the potential of fraud there is much less prevalent than says a spousal adjustment, but I hope if cases have enough evidence they will consider interview waivers if they seem simple enough. However, no one can tell you with certainty what the plan is because things seems to change daily. I am telling you on Monday the officers were unsure of what was going to happen and I am sure they heard the same time we did.

😮 I didn't even know they could do interview waivers! I assumed everyone got an interview! Thats good to know

Oh no. That's really unfortunate, I'm sorry. Hope it won't get pushed back any further. That's not the yellow from the egg ( another German one 😉 )

Yea... and now we have the salad!!! (Joining the German sayings party haha) -  and yes, I agree, we’re a very supportive bunch of people 😊❤️

One of my favourites 😂

It's not the yellow from the egg when something is not really good. And when that leads to something worse then you have the salad. But if you learn something out of it you can say: now I know how the bunny runs 😁

Sooooo......

I got the job!! Yaaay. Buuuuut, still no EAD (insert panic here) They should be sending the offer via email very soon.

My start date is not until the end of Apr so I have a few weeks yet. Going to proceed with an expedite request - anxious as heck seeing how my first expedite request was denied.

Trying to be so super happy to be so fortunate to have received this opportunity but panic and anxiety are getting in the way. However, I will not be going out and stockpiling toilet paper - apparently that’s what people do when panic strikes. Hahaha

if anyone has any helpful hints, let me know.

thank you!!

I really hope that they'll approve it soon or at least grant you the expedite this time

That’s so exciting!! I hope everything works out but I’m sure it will if it’s meant to be - and if it doesn’t then that’s only because there’s something even better coming up 😉 No helpful hints here, but all fingers crossed!!

Ooooooh that would be so perfect. To be quite honest - all I’m after right now is the EAD. I am perfectly fine waiting for an interview. As long as I can get my EAD soon, I’ll be a happy girl.

ikr. Anything is a big jump but everyone's trying to work right now.

Wow a massive congratulations to you!! And to be extended a job offer amidst all this, its an even bigger accomplishment!

I think if you send the job offer along with a cover letter explaining why you need the expedite, hopefully they will grant it!! I would also mention that this job will help reinstate any financial loss accrued during the pandemic, and that it won’t affect your social distancing orders because it doesn’t start until the end of April.

as always keep us updated!

Thank you so much for the tips. I’ll take any advice I can get at this point. Next two hurdles include:

•getting that written offer

•getting my EAD expedited/approved

As everyone here can appreciate, you gotta take things one hurdle at a time.

thank you again for the congrats. I’ll keep you posted as I learn more.

For sure. The written offer should be on its way very shortly if you have already gotten verbal confirmation.

otherwise you can always specifically ask for it! You don’t have to do the I-9 until after the offer is given.

did they tell you when you need to complete the I9 by?
