I also got an update to my case last night, it is now "Case is Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview"!!!!

I feel ecstatic and wasn't expecting this since our Seattle office is closed for 14 days.

Yeah 🎉🎉

the ready to be scheduled is coming from NBC. Now your file moves to Seattle. And even though many people say that this update doesn't mean much I still feel like it's an important step since at least the file is at the right office now and not with NBC anymore.

Ohhh I didn't know that! So now the real wait begins.

I do think it means a lot because it means our paperwork is at least complete enough not to warrant an initial RFE.

Also that it is going to the right office! I'll celebrate any status changes that isn't an RFE or denial haha

Good news...   status changed to Case is ready to be scheduled for an Interview.     I guess from reading the post it can stay in this status for a while.    Hopefully Dallas office will schedule sooner than later.      Crossing our fingers.

Will we still get a combo card if in this status or does this status stop the processing of the combo card.        We got a message from Visa Journey that the estimated date for the combo card is 5/21.

thanks for any responses 🙂

I hope that a combo card gets issued before you get the interview. That’s what I would want. Congrats on the status change.

This status does not stop the processing of the combo card at all!

If they see that your interview will be scheduled before the combo card, then they will just send the green card and stop the EAD/AP process. But otherwise both are processed concurrently on their own respective timelines - that's why some people receive their combo cards within days of their green cards :)

Good luck!

Hypothetical question here!

I think I have a job offer coming to me 🤞🏻🤞🏻 The position does not start until the end of April (still have some time). Should I get the job offer, should I try and submit for an expedite?

if there is a job offer for me I would really hate to pass on it - it’s absolutely perfect.

help!

I guess it’s all I can do at this point. Would be gutted if I had to pass this up. I’ll just cross that bridge if and when I get to it.

Times like these, I realllllly need the stars to align.

Definitely! Use the job offer as reason to expedite the EAD. Make sure you get the offer in writing because we all know how much USCIS loves documentation.

And congratulations!! I also just got a new job - today is my last day with my current company :)

Two updates from my side:

1) Got a letter from USCIS yesterday saying that my fingerprints can be used for the AP (I didn't know that they would send a separate letter for that)

2) Status changed to "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview" for AOS today :)

Now the wait begins again. And Houston Rodeo is shutdown :(

Does everyone get a letter about fingerprints and AP? My AP case status says 'Case Was Received' only. I gave my fingerprints on February 5th.

Yess, new opportunity that I am really excited for :)

But because of the virus my start date was already pushed back a week :/

My status for AP says that too, but my EAD status is "Fingerprint Review was Completed." Since it's a combo card sometimes the AP doesn't really update as frequently because the EAD is kind of the "main" benefit.
