I don't know but EAD's seem to be processing pretty fast the last two months. The craziest thing happened in our office last week. A client actually had their EAD approved without having done the bio-metrics first lol. He received his social security number, but of course no work permit since they do not even have his photo or fingerprints on file yet lol. He has has bios appointment next week. However the last month I had three EADS approved within a month in a half, which is unheard of these days, but hey its possible. However, it is three out of like 20, so I would still not say it is the norm.

That’s awesome. I’m with @Letspaintcookies - hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Seems to be a common theme with the entire process. Fingers crossed because this girl needs to start replenishing her bank account. 💸💸💸

Some folks do get EAD/AP without the Finger print. The only cause is that they were able to obtain finger prints from some where else.. no one knows but i have seen people receiving EAD/AP without the Finger print done

Yeah you’re right. I’ve seen it a couple times and it’s common when doing work permit renewals, but even those times they usually send a notification that there’s no need for bios since they already have them on file. I also see it in asylum cases since when they ask for asylum at point of entry they take some forms of bios.

Lets just hope we all get quick work permits. I know my wife is dying bored at home and rather be working and contributing financially.

I am totally with her. Have been here for 8 weeks now, married for 7 and I wonder what all the other AOS applicants do all day long? Yes, I have a gym membership, I play tennis, build my social network, walk the dog, take care of the house while husband is at work etc. But to be frank, being a house wife is not very satisfying (to me at least) and I cannot wait to get my work permit. Luckily, I get visitors from Germany very frequently until mid May so that keeps me busy. However, deep inside me I have to admit that I do regret a tiny bit that we chose the K1 over CR1... Yes, we had done our research before taking this decision but I believe that you cannot realize all the consequences before you actually get here. How do others feel about this?

I am with you 100% totally regretting our K1 choice. But, can’t dwell on that now. I keep busy with the kids and we have an online business. Still, I’d rather be continuing on with the career I left behind in Canada. Earning more, contributing more. I’ll admit, I was 100% naive about how difficult this process would be financially, and emotionally. But, I do see a light at the end of the tunnel (for us all) so that is what keeps me going! Fingers crossed we can all hear positive news soon!

Thank you for being so open and honest about it. Yes, fingers crossed for all of us to get EADs asap!

No, thank YOU! No one talks about how emotionally taxing this process is. Thank you for opening that discussion. It is important. And I’m sure that everyone’s experience is different. Overall, mine has been typical, textbook, nothing crazy. Still, it’s so so important to make sure you have a strong support system. I’ve experienced the full spectrum of emotions - anywhere from extremely high, to extremely low. I just look at how far we have come. In a sense, if it wasn’t for my naivety - I might not have done this at all. Ignorance is bliss. Ready to reap the rewards of our patience. I am looking forward to hearing about more approvals on this thread.

I absolutely don't regret going the K1 route. With my husband's deployment schedule that was the best choice without planning for spring 2022. Do I get scared every time I see a cop like car in the rear mirror because I'm driving with my foreign DL? Yes! Do I miss working? Hell no! I love being a housewife and wish I never would have to go back to work again 😂😂 I honestly enjoy this time so much right now just focusing on myself ( and my husband whenever he's at home).

Hm I guess I’m somewhere in between you and @Letspaintcookies - K1 was definitely the right decision, I gave birth to our son in June and we just needed to be able to live together ASAP! We lived together prior to filing but then had to long distance it during pregnancy, so no regrets about the K1. However, I definitely struggled being a new mom and housewife all the sudden.  It was such a blessing though, because it made me realize that I want to change careers so now I’m doing pre reqs for grad school :)  The EAD is somewhat nice to have but what I really need is the GC prior to August 23rd 2020 in order to establish residency for tuition purpose 😄🙈 I guess while all these changes (mom life, housewife, lack of social life) and the whole visa process were/are definitely tough, I took it as an opportunity for a new career and that feels pretty good. Plus my husband and 8 month old son are the best people ever, oh and living in Hawaii helps too ❤️😁
