Hello Everyone!

Daniel here from Vancouver WA. We sent our AOS on January 17 to the Chicago lockbox via FedEx, they received it on Jan 21 due to the holiday but We haven't received any confirmation (text, email, mail), is this normal? should we contact the USCIS now or keep waiting for a little longer? The check hasn't been cashed yet.

Thanks for your help!

No not yet give it awhile yet they have 30 business days to respond and lately some have even been longer than that, but they will show up. Some times even if you have sent the  form that you want to be notified once your case has been received they still don't send them, but they for sure will show up in the mail. Don't worry about the money your Uncle Sam will get his due, so that is your least worry!!!!😁

it took them more than 3+ weeks to send ours or cash their check. Still too early for worrying. Best of luck.

Hey Everyone,

I filed my AOS in April 2019 on a marriage-based petition and had my interview today. Just thought I would share my timeline with all of you because when I was in your shoes I was desperate to find out any information and how long waits were at my field office (Hartford, CT). My timeline:

04/01/19 - AOS package delivered to Chicago lockbox via USPS

04/08/19 - Texts received

04/09/19 - Checks cashed

04/12/19 - NOA received by mail

04/19/19 - Biometrics appointment notice received by mail and set for May 2

05/02/19 - Biometrics takem

05/07/19 - Status changed to Waiting to be Scheduled for an Interview

09/05/19 - AP/EAD status changed to Combo card being produced

09/10/19 AP/EAD combo card received

12/18/19 - Interview scheduled

02/03/20 - Interview

02/03/20 - Approved/card is bring produced

I thought my case was doing great after the biometrics and status changing to Waiting to be scheduled for an interview...but that is a trap. I went months after that with the same status and hearing nothing. Crickets. Just be patient.

Had my interview today in Hartford, CT. For some reason I was expecting it to be at the same office as where the finger prints were taken, but it was downtown at the courthouse. The waiting room was completely full with families, lawyers, translators, etc. We arrived 30 mins early for our appointment and ended up having to wait 45 mins. Our interviewer said appointments later in the day can be tough because sometimes interviews from earlier in the day run over and it screws up the whole schedule (this interview already had a case that was 2 hours today!).

The interview itself was a breeze. My AOS was marriage based so we were asked all the usual questions, how did you meet, when did you meet, what was your first date, where was the proposal, where was the wedding, etc. What is your spouses name, DOB, where did they last live. How long have you been in the US, when did you last enter, etc etc.

I brought updated photos, tax returns, joint bank statements, basically anything that I sent in the original package as evidence of a bonafide marriage I brought updates of and was told that was a smart move.

I honestly got the sense that our interviewer was relieved we weren't English second language and didn't have a lawyer or translator there and they could have just a normal conversation with us. We got chit chatting and the interviewer said if they suspect fraud they will separate the spouses and ask up to 80 questions looking for slipups. If there are incongruencies in the time you first met/first date, the proposal, or the wedding then you are basically toast.

Once we were called in the interview took 25-30 minutes and most of that was just chit chatting. We were told our case was rock solid and the green card would be approved today. Status is now changed to card being produced.

Best of luck to all of you. Hang in there. It took me 10 months though I believe most of the smaller offices take way shorter than that.

Hi guys! We sent our AOS packet last Jan. 23, received a text notification on 30th and NOA1 came to our mailbox today with the notice date of Jan. 30 also. I guess that makes us January filers.

Yup you got it congratulations.

January 2020 filers thread got messed up. Anyway!

We received the NOA for AOS and AP but no NOA for EAD. I received a text message stating the 3 case number for AOS, EADand AP.  Is it possible that it got lost? Isn’t it suppose to be sent all together? Should I wait for 30days to contact them? What extension number should I call when calling their helpline?

We are worried about it. It still shows “Case was received.” as status.

Calm down now, you got the three numbers  by text right just not one of them hard copy. Wait awhile it's just behind in the mail probably no need to freak out.👍

Haha. It is just odd that almost all of the people who filed here received the 3 hard copies and I only received 2. Well I just have to wait then for 30days and call them. Hope to get those hard copy.
