Two days ago, my case changed to "Interview was scheduled". Today, we came back from a mini vacation in Mexico, and the immigration officer asked if we still live on [new street]. We moved to a new house a few months ago, and I requested an address change, and seems like the interview invitation will be sent to the new address :) BTW: I got escorted at immigration in Houston today. They checked my AOS status, asked where I am arriving from today, how long I stayed, who I traveled with, etc. Very nice officer, and after 5 minutes they let me go.

Hi January filers. I come on here from time to time to see how everyone is doing. 🙂

I was approved for my GC at the end of November but have recently just started my first job and passed my drivers exam (just got to go get my license.)  After all this time, it feels like life is just beginning. 🙂

To those who are still waiting, HANG IN THERE!! ❤️❤️ And to those who have been approved, are you driving or working? How is life treating you? It would be awesome to keep in touch with anyone who wants to and who knows, we may ‘meet’ again for ROC filing. 🙂

I know this is a little late, but Congratulations @Meg101!

My interview is on May 12th and I was wondering if I should do my medical exam just for the sake of "in case USCIS lost my previous medical exam" 🙄 but I think i'm just gonna wing it and see if I get an RFE. Still hoping for the best. 🤞

BTW, do you remember if they asked for your spouse's (USC) original birth certificate? He couldn't find the original, but we have the photocopy so was wondering if that will suffice.

Thanks so much! 😊

Thank you!! 🙂

I honestly don’t think they asked him for anything besides his photo ID but we were separated for the interview because of covid we weren’t in the same room and he can’t remember lol. We did bring it with us to be safe though. I think your photocopy would be fine, it’s certainly better than nothing. 🙂

If it was me, I wouldn’t worry about redoing the medical unless you are given a RFE. Many people sail through absolutely fine without it.

You could just look into where, how long the wait is and how much it costs to get it done so you have a quick moving plan for the worst case scenario.🙂

good luck!!! 💖

Hi all!

Quick question: My AOS interview is on 5/20. I would like to leave the country on 5/28 and come back 3 weeks later. What if I do not have my greencard in the mail before I leave? Will I be able to enter the US with my combo card again?

Thanks!

As soon as a decision is made on your AOS the EAD/ AP will get canceled so you might run into trouble if you try to enter with that card.

I traveled to Mexico the day after my AOS interview. I wasn't approved at the interview,  so I asked the officer and she told me I could still use my combo card. That same night the system updated to Approved, and still I had no problem coming back (I was away for 2 weeks). Also, my GC was in the mail 6 days after the interview.

Make sure to ask the officer at the end of your interview. If they approve you right there, then maybe you could ask for a stamp on your passport to use on your way back to the USA.

Good luck 🙂

Had our interview in Houston today. It was lame and disappointing. We were interviewed together, and the only question regarding our relationship was 'how did you meet?'. Immigration officer asked if I am working, and made sure the information on my application was still up to date. That's it! No proof of our relationship or any other documents needed. She said my medical expired and I need a new one, but I asked her to double check (medical was from Sept 2019) and she then figured out it was still good. I was not approved on the spot because she wanted to do another security check. I asked for the I 551 stamp but didn't get it :( A few hours later, status changed to 'Case was approved' :)

So my interview was on 5/20 and I got approved later that day. Since then, my status has not changed and it is still "Case was approved". I received the notice of action in the mail on 5/24. The notice says that I was approved but that I may be required to report for biometrics processing again. Did anybody have the same issue?

Hi Guys,

I hope y'all are doing well and healthy.

I wanna renew my EAD/AP combo card, I have finished filling out the forms but I'm confused, should I send it all in one Manila Envelope or should I split it into two Manila envelopes?

Kindly help as I'm stuck.

Thanks guys

Hi

i did the same yesterday, we ended up doing one file for i765 and one file for i131 each in a separate envelope.

we put a cover letter on top of the two files and sent it to Uscis.

we put the exact same form than the first time around but also added proof of current ead, with receipt notice from Uscis. Proof of biometrics, I also put my job offer of when I was recruited.

you applied in January 2020 and are still waiting?

I am just renewing since I've hit the 180 days mark...

I sent in my AOS package last year, my priority date is for September of 2020
