Hello wanted to give an update on our interview Wednesday LA-San Fernando Valley office

It was as easy and simple as it could of gone. We received our appointment letter in Feb. We waited for about 30mins before we were called in to our appointment. I had pictures, taxes, health insurance and other supporting documents and he didn't ask for any of it. He literally just said this is more of a formality and that we  have a strong case. The only thing he asked to see was our original BC and marriage certificate. He asked my husband for his parents name. Gave us information on 10 yr GC and sent us on our way. We must of been in there for about 8 minutes and 5 of those minutes was him just giving us info on GC vs US citizenship

Hello everyone. Hope everyone is doing okay specially this Holy Week.

Just want to share and ask for advice on my situation. Finally after 268days I already have a scheduled date for our interview. However on that same day, 2hrs after, is our flight going to Hawaii due to my husband is in the Navy and we got orders to relocate there, the orders came in first before I receive the interview notice. If I reschedule our interview we don't have mailing address there yet since we'll be staying in a hotel for a few weeks.

Is it possible if we go at our interview an hour earlier? And we'll show our orders and itinerary since I know they won't let people in if it's more than 15mins earlier than scheduled time.

or what you guys suggest we do?

thank you in advance!

Day 7 after interview - Still says “Name was updated” ☹️

Hey! My name was also updated during the interview - the green card arrived with the updated name. Would you happen to know what happens now that the social security card and the green card show different names?

You can try requesting an in-person appointment with SSA in order to update the name on the SS card.

Thank you. I called and they're not open to the public, with in-person appointments only for 'urgent' cases. I explained the situation and the person was very understanding, and told me to try again in the next month or two when they're expected to open up again.

Oh that's good news. All the persons at SSA I've spoken too were everything but understanding so it's good to hear that they expect some movement.
