Hey guys I haven't been on here for a while due to not much activity within immigration. However, about a week ago I got the interview scheduled alert. Yesterday, I received the letter, so I have my interview on Feb. 19. I am finally excited to be done with this part of the process. Quick question it's been about a year and half since my wife did the medical back in her home country during the k1 process. Does anyone know if she needs to do the medical exam before the interview? Thank you in advance?

https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-b-chapter-3

K or V Nonimmigrants Applying for Adjustment [26]

K and V nonimmigrants applying for adjustment of status are not required to repeat the medical examination if the application was filed within one year of the date of the original medical examination, and:

  • The medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition; or

  • The applicant received a conditional waiver in conjunction with the K or V nonimmigrant visa or the change of status to V and the applicant submits evidence of compliance with the waiver terms and conditions. [27]

If a new medical examination is required and reveals a Class A medical condition, a new waiver application will also be required. In such cases, the officer should determine whether the applicant complied with the terms and conditions of the first waiver, if applicable. Such determination should be given considerable weight in the adjudication of a subsequent waiver application. [28]

Even if a new medical examination is not required, applicants must still comply with the vaccination requirements if the vaccination record was not included as part of the original medical examination report. If the vaccination report was properly completed at the time of the overseas examination, the officer may accept the vaccination assessment completed by the panel physician.

An applicant’s overseas medical examination report completed by a panel physician should already be in the applicant’s A-file. If it is not in the A-file, the officer should request the medical examination report through a Request for Evidence (RFE).

Hi everyone! We sent our EAD/AP renewal through USPS priority certified mail on 1/14. It was supposed to reach the Chicago lockbox on 1/19. However, there has been no updates on the tracking since 1/14 (all other updates were “In transit, arriving late” until 1/18).

USPS says these delays are normal and certified mail is slower due to being more secure, but I’m still really nervous... I’ve heard of people’s tracking not updating yet they get their NOA texts.

however, NOA’s are really backed up right now so I don’t know if I should wait for that or resend the documents? Only thing is we sent the tear off portion for the EAD with that packet and dont have it or a copy of it anymore. My husband’s EAD expires in June.

any advice is appreciated :’(

Don't worry, it's pretty normal lately that USPS delivers mails with some delays. This information even on the website.

Yes but this has like no updates... and I wont know if it was delivered or not until I get NOA (which is taking 8 weeks) which would only leave 2 months for his EAD expiration (8 weeks from now is April and his EAD expires June).

@Bars&Saqi This thread is for AOS filed a year ago. I haven't seen a thread for this year yet.

But FYI, I mailed in our AOS to Chicago 22 Dec. Tracking still shows it in transit but we received the NOA1 2 days ago. Just under a month.

I did file my AOS in January 2020, this particular tracking is for my EAD/AP renewal since our field office is Seattle with a long processing time! But good to know - seems like a lot of people’s tracking doesn’t update. Did you send through certified mail too with signature required?

I ship lots of packages every day, and I'm telling you that this "arriving late" status is nothing extraordinary, that's pretty normal. Once it's delivered you will see it. Sometimes it takes a week, sometimes 10-14 days.

No, sent it priority mail. And I only did that for the tracking. I've never found Priority to be any faster than regular mail.

Hmm that’s a little worrying for me since we sent it with signature required and certified mail 😕

It will update as soon as it gets delivered which will eventually happen. Had this status a couple times in the past too and it always arrived.

I received the received update from USCIS a week after delievery, Chicago lockbox is still going strong 😊
