My fiance lives in a pretty undeveloped part of Dominican republic. He does not have a street name or house number/typical address (example: 123 Smith St). Not sure how to go about this for my application. Thanks in advance!

Describe it the best you can.  How would he tell the pizza delivery driver to find it? Nothing gets mailed to the beneficiary anyway

YMMV

This is very common in many parts of the world. How do you send things to him?

I imagine you can’t send things to him in the mail as was the case with my husband in Haiti. Mail to a residence is nonexistent in some parts of the world.

Is there a main road he lives on? For example, in South East Haiti there is one main road that travels through the province and depending which part (village/town) it would be considered “Route de (village name)”  now of course that’s not very descriptive but that’s what we put. Another thing you can do is see if there is a hotel in the area and what address they use- (the one by us address is simple Route de Cyvadier)- no # and if you needed to find it you’d ask a local or hope for some signs with an arrow but that’s how it works in some places.

The best person to ask is your fiance "if I had to send you packet, how would the postman find you?"

The second source to ask is your fiance's local post office in how they would suggest you write the address.

I learned the hard way, I hope YOU don't have to. Advice: learn, learn, learn.
