Hi all,

Just received letter for biometrics  appointment. It is scheduled for 3/20.

Interestingly enough it is not at the closest  ASC ie Mount Laurel NJ but in Philadelphia, PA. I wonder if the interview  will also be in Philly.  I will report back with my experience.

I'm in a similar situation. I do not have a job offer yet but I'm wondering if I should even apply to jobs right now since I won't get my EAD in time. I think if you could maybe prove that you are no longer employed at your current job, show all your bills and financial obligations, and show your new job offer, then maybe that will justify you being unemployed as a "financial hardship"?

If you are on H1b, I will say wait it out if you can. However if you are on K1 and adjusting AOS then I saw some people successfully requesting expedited EAD.

My Visa ends in October. If I don’t get my EAD mid July I will request expedited EAD due to loss of wages when my H1b will expire.

Anyone knows which photo will be used on EAD and eventual GC? The one sent in a package or the one taken at biometrics?

Got noa1 by text for all 3 cases last night . Sent 18th they recieved 24th.

Hoping for work authorization to be speedy .

Congrats! I sent it around the same time and saw that they received my package on the 24th. My check was not cashed until last Friday (3/6) and I have not received any texts or email yet. Should I be concern?

Nah, sounds like you're good. The fact that they've cashes the cheques means they've accepted the packet. Sometimes people don't receive confirmation texts for some reason. Just be on the lookout for NOAs in your mail, then you can start keeping track of things with the receipt numbers.

Exactly ^^^ can take up to a month to get a notice.

I had been waiting for 20 days.

Did you finally get your NOAs yet? Or at least a confirmation?

Do you have any ties with PA? Mailing address perhaps?

That's so weird that we requested to receive texts and emails but didn't get anything. We signed up for USPS informed delivery though and saw that we have a mail coming in today!

It happens from time to time, others have experienced something similar. Could be that they didn't properly process the G-1145 form or perhaps some technical issues on the side of USCIS.

I for example didn't always receive a text with a new status update, definitely didn't always receive an email with a status update and the egov page shows different things than myUSCIS account.

Just got my biometrics letter today!

With all this coronavirus craziness, I will be in a different state from where the appointment is scheduled. Has anyone ever walked in to the biometrics appointment at a different support center or know if anyone who has done it? Do I need to call them in advance or can I just walk in?

Timeline so far:

Sent AOS - Feb 21

Received it - Feb 24

NOAs & biometric letter in the mail - Mar 12

Biometrics date - Mar 23

You can't call, but plenty of people have walking in earlier (like me) or in a different location altogether with success. There are no guarantees in this regard, it's up to discretion of whomever is in charge at the location. So you won't know until you try.
