Does biometrics have to be done twice? Biometric was completed on Monday for I-485. Today received another appointment letter for biometrics for I-131. Everything was filed at the same time adjustment of status, travel, and work permit.

Normally not. Normally 131 doesn't even require biometrics and if they need biometrics they use the one on file (if they haven't expired yet). But lately more and more people report the same experience you have. Perhaps it might be worth to call USCIS (and ask for a tier 2 officer) and see what's up. Now that all ASCs are closed anyways, there's no real time pressure.

Anyway there is no way to do biometric in the nearest future. And they usually use the same biometric which you did for I-485

Right I would think they could just use the one already on file. I'll definitely call to follow up. Thank you for your response.

It's typically fundamental stuff like a missing long-form birth certificate, marriage certificate, the sponsor not being sufficient and this needing a joint sponsor. Stuff that is needed as bare minimum to consider it a complete application.

Well, it ended up being my marriage certificate...which I had actually included in the original filing (I checked the submission with the lawyer today). VERY FRUSTRATING.

I received my AED card but now I tried to call Uscis to find that if they ordered my social security card since when I was filling up my original application I have been asked if I want social security card and I said yes

but no one could answer that question

and social security is closed to public so I print out an application but it’s asking to send AED because they don’t accept copy

help and advice please

anyone in the same situation?

I checked USPS informed delivery in the morning and noticed a mail from USCIS along with others mails. By the end of the day I got every mail except that one from USCIS 😪. So frustrating. I have no idea what this mail is about and why I didn't get(
