Administrative Processing - Moscow Embassy

Hello,

 

Back in October my fiancé conducted her medical review and was referred to a secondary medical screening. She went ahead and kept her interview appointment which was conducted on 31 October. She was told everything was in order and she was approved pending her medical results. Her medical results came back showing she is perfectly heathy on 11 Dec and they were sent and received at the embassy on the 17th of December. Since that time her visa has been in an administrative processing status.

 

She has read online that you only have 90 days from completion of medical results to receive your visa or you must start the entire process over again. Is that true? I have not read that on any English sites.

 

Does anyone have any experience with any similar situations especially with the Moscow embassy?

 

We met in person (at Oktoberfest in Germany) and have since been on several vacations together. We are both solidly middle class with college degrees and have plenty of money with no criminal history. Neither of us have children. As far as I know there is zero reason for the government to have any concerns.

 

Since the embassy has had her passport since 31 October we have not seen each other since the end of September (I do not have a Russian visa). We are considering requesting a return of her passport so we can see each other. Has anyone done this? I am concerned this could further delay things?

No.  Generally, a medical is normally valid for 6 months.  If she requests her passport back, it could delay the case.

Others have done it. It has delayed each but we can't say how long as this isn't "normal" process.

 

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile.
