Well the article says it's affecting only non immigrants appointments. At least for now.

Yes, it does only say non-immigrant appointments for now.  Nigeria has also temporarily closed borders to 13 countries, including the US.

Yes and that means citizens and residents from those countries can't enter Nigeria but Nigerians can still travel to those countries (US inclusive). So until those counties close their borders on us, we are allowed to go there.

Though it wouldn't be a good idea to travel now with the situation of things. But you have to travel before your medical or 6 months issued expired. Else you have to start another visa application all over (pay new medicals, new visa fees, gather documents and the likes) which can be stressful.

Thats great. Sounds like good news to me.

Nevertheless, those that dont get a waiver, are they been rejected? or what happens to them?

Thanks for your reply!

Please Nigeria immigrant applicants that dont get a waiver after the interview, what happens to them?

Can someone kindly help in answering this?

Thanks.

The CO will decide if you qualify for the waiver, you won't need to apply for it.

Also for clarity, anybody who has ever been issued a visitors visa (B1/B2) automatically gets approved. @Angel4lovehad previously been issued one of those, hence the reason she was approved. Hope this clears the air, Mrs Og.

Aside from previously being issued a visa, you must also meet the requirement to get the approval.

All the best to all of us
