Go ahead with your application and be positive, the ban will be lifted soon and moreover it takes months if not a year for USCIS to approve the case and there are still testimonies since the ban good luck.

Thank you so much. I will move forward and hope for the best

Hello guys,

I am visiting my husband in Nigeria now but I will be back on the states when it is time for his interview somewhere in April. Will I be interviewed in the states and what will he need to bring to the interview. Will he need original documents like marriage license? And medical exam results, AOS, etc or will they ask for these things later?

Why would you, the petitioner, be interviewed?

He will need his original documents.  Look at the documents required at the DOS site or the portal here or ask questions in the regional forum.

Oh yes you did, I will continue checking. It is currently showing Administrative processing. Thanks for the support and advise

My fiancée had his K1 interview last yr and was told he was approved and it would be printed. It was also under admin processing and then we got an email saying they’re going to revoke it 2wks after the interview. I don’t trust these CO’s. I would say check everyday and send emails till you get it.

You won't be interviewed. He will be interviewed in Lagos. Wish him the best with the travel ban and getting a waiver. My husband is Nigerian also. I hope we all make it through all these hurdles with the travel ban, the waivers and the coronavirus.

It's very uncommon, but the petitioner can be interviewed for the I-130 (if not yet approved).

Typically this is for cases where there are some unusual circumstances that they suspect the marriage may not be legitimate. For example, marriage while under the age of 18 can be a flag for forced marriage.

I have seen it where the beneficiary has been deported.

I don’t know. That is why I posed the question. I have heard of both spouses being interviewed together so I just asked because I do not know what happens if you are not in the same country at the time of interview. Thanks

As noted, it's possible but very unusual for the petitioner to be interviewed for the I-130.

Sometimes the consulate may request the petitioner's attendance if they are uncertain of the legitimacy of the relationship.

Mosy times when both spouses are interviewed together it is for adjustment of status I believe.
