I have been quietly checking the posts for weeks now, specifically to see if there were going to be any  updates following the 22nd.  No one posted anything so when my fiancé went in for his interview this morning, I though I’d share our experience. Because that was specifically what I was looking for myself, I thought my experience would help others looking for the same information.  Of course not all experiences are the same , but hopefully mine helped put some people at ease.

You put a lot of us at ease by sharing your fiancé’s experience. Thank you.

It would be super cool if there is a way this can be verified. Not try to be pessimistic but I want to deal with facts... My cousin is out of her mind and I don't want to give her false hope.

Why doesn’t your cousin join the community? Maybe she can find comfort in knowing she isn’t the only one going through this. All of us here are trying to make heads and tails of this situation. We are all trying to remain positive and encourage each other. There is strength in numbers and knowing you aren’t suffering alone.

I wonder how else you want to verify after seeing someone with an experience today the 25th..after the ban.

When the visa is actually issued.  That is the only real sign of approval....I still find it very strange that fiances are allowed into the US when spouses are not.....

I know it’s a difficult time and I understand the panic, but I assure you all of this took place this morning. Just try to stay positive and I’m sure everything will work out fine.

As I mentioned previously, many people were turned down due to lack of proof but nothing about the ban or waiver were mentioned to him. He said the interview was essentially just a conversation about the relationship. He said he was nervous, but it was literally as if he was telling the story to an old friend he had run into and they inquire about our union.

He told the woman about how many times we have seen each other. He offered to show flight ticket evidence but the woman said don’t worry about it.  She asked if I was a born citizen or naturalized and that was the only question she asked pertaining to me.

From there she looked at a few photos of us from the times we visited each other , a few chat logs starting from the first day we met on IG. He offered to show her his call log , because we chat via FT and Whattsapp, but she told him it was fine she understood and she didn’t need to see it.

Lastly she told him he planned on traveling anytime soon because he can’t have to visas at the same time and informed him she would be canceling his B1/B2 visa.

Stay strong dear and stay positive.

I’m guessing it’s because a fiancé is not an immigrant until they get married and adjust their status.  A spouse enters the US as an immigrant and the travel ban restricts entry as an immigrant. But like you said we shall know when the visa is issued.
