Were you sent a message to redo your medicals? Also, I collected my passport today with an expired visa. Can I go ahead to redo my medical now that I have my passport or are there other requirements?

Yes I received a message from them to redo my medical and police report. Don't wait for them reach out to them for the reissuance of your visa.

hello VJ Fam!

So here is the catch. Just got back from redoing my medical exam.

Please if your intl.passport is with the embassy and you are to redo your medical exam kindly go to the embassy and request for it or a photocopy of the data page and must be stamped by a consulate in order for you to do the medical screening otherwise they won't be able to carry out the medical process for u.

I was at the medical screening exercise on Tuesday after waiting on a long queue and finally get to my turn the screening officer said to me that the photocopy of my intl.passport I brought doesn't carry any stamp from the embassy that I should go get it stamped. I had to leave immediately to the US embassy to get it stamped. To cut story short I met with the consulate he told me to just have my passport back to do the screening and submit the passport along with the documents they requested prior then gave me a form and checked the box that says international passport so that the DHL staff will allow me to submit along with the rest.

So please if you are redo your medical and you don't have your passport with u do what I have told you so u don't waste your time sitting at the medical facility to get screened.

Anyways I finally redo my exam. Thank you Jesus. It shall end in praise for us all. Amen🙏🙏🙏

Congratulations fam , this shall end in praises for us all.

Hello. You should try contacting embassy first before booking for medicals or making any payments. Also, don't wait for them to send you an email before writing them because I doubt they will reach out. I attached an excerpt from a reply I got from them concerning intending immigrants with expired visas (like your case).

You can try this email support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com if their regular lagosIV@state.gov doesn't work

Thanks. I tried the first email. It was the on auto reply like you pasted above. Will also try the second.

Sometimes it takes a little longer than usual. It will also depend on the reason for expediting. You sure be hearing from them soon.

I know of one case due to the health (life) of the mother and unborn child the husband was allowed to expedite; this was before the covid even came into play.

I know another case of a spouse needing back surgery; their back was broken and they were denied. The embassy stated, " others had been waiting patiently before them and it would not be fair to expedite, etc....".

So im wishing you luck. I di believe it took about nine days to 2 weeks for a response. Each case is different and with the covid it may be a little longer.

My husband was fortunate to catch a repatriation flight out in July so I have not been keeping up with this thread so this is probably old news to everyone but just in case it's not. Visas are being reissued for those unable to fly due to Covid-19 on Oct 19 - Oct 22! Fee is $325.

Hi fam,

please I need your advice/opinion/ Experience on this issue.

I was pregnant when my husband started filling process, hubby was still LRP then, and when I gave birth, case was still with USCIS and he called to notify them and they told us he doesn’t need to fill another form I-130 for our baby, that when we get to NVC stage we should include her name, And we relaxed. In btw this period, hubby became citizen. Fast  forward to when we got to NVC stage, we included her name when fill out ds-260 as said, and she was placed under review, but they approved mine and asked me to pay for further processing. The day we got dq’ed was the day they cancelled her application that there is no derivative visa for her, we should go and start her own case afresh, hubby had to call them back on what we should do, cos that time we were only waiting for interview date, they told us that she would be the principal applicant beneficiary at the time of interview. Truly, when they sent interview appointment letter, she was added as beneficiaries to attend the interview, but due to pandemic we were not able to attend the interview. Now my question is this, do you guys think she will be granted visa, hope consular won’t put me in Ap cos of this and ask me to start her own afresh, seriously it baffles me a lot.
Thank you.

note: we were asked  to provide more evidence before our case was approved with USCIS, so hubby had to provide his naturalization certificate, our baby’s birthday certificate, pictures and all that. Not too long our case got approved and upgraded to CR1

I think you should seek the opinion of an Immigration lawyer.

If your husband is now a citizen, shouldn’t you be applying for a CRBA for your child? Check if your husband qualifies to pass on his citizenship.

What was your message? To redo your medical? If yes print out the message you received from them then go to the embassy before 1pm show it to the security personnel that you were asked to redo your medical screening  and that the physician requested for your passport or a stamped copy from the consulate to enable them carryout the screening exercise.

Then they will direct you to the consulate. The CO will either give you a stamped copy of your passport if it has been stamped already or just give you your passport back.

If your passport is given to you back make sure you request for a form from the CO that checked the box that you should submit your passport otherwise the DHL staff won't accept your passport on the day of submission.

Shalom🙏🙏🙏
