hello VJ Fam!

So here is the catch. Just got back from redoing my medical exam.

Please if your intl.passport is with the embassy and you are to redo your medical exam kindly go to the embassy and request for it or a photocopy of the data page and must be stamped by a consulate in order for you to do the medical screening otherwise they won't be able to carry out the medical process for u.

I was at the medical screening exercise on Tuesday after waiting on a long queue and finally get to my turn the screening officer said to me that the photocopy of my intl.passport I brought doesn't carry any stamp from the embassy that I should go get it stamped. I had to leave immediately to the US embassy to get it stamped. To cut story short I met with the consulate he told me to just have my passport back to do the screening and submit the passport along with the documents they requested prior then gave me a form and checked the box that says international passport so that the DHL staff will allow me to submit along with the rest.

So please if you are redo your medical and you don't have your passport with u do what I have told you so u don't waste your time sitting at the medical facility to get screened.

Anyways I finally redo my exam. Thank you Jesus. It shall end in praise for us all. Amen🙏🙏🙏

Congratulations, it’s well with you, please did you do covid 19 test along with those test, heard it’s painful and I don’t know if they will request for it at embassy

you’ll have to do CRBA for the baby. That’s a different process handled by the American citizens services section of the embassy. You can do it in Abuja or Lagos. Although the embassy is not yet open for the service. https://ng.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/birth/

Oh thank you so much!!!

Probably a better idea. Thank you!

You just make sure the IO give you a form that checked the box for you to drop your passport otherwise the DHL officer won't take the passport from you.

My thought on this is that. When ones passport is stamped but not issued yet before the closure of the embassy services during the pandemic, you can only be given a photocopy of your passport data page that is stamped not the original intl. Passport but when your passport hasn't been stamped before the pandemic hit hard then they will give you your passport back and tell you to drop it off along with the requested documents you were asked to bring.

you can correct me if I am wrong though but that's what I believe.

Were you sent a message to redo your medicals? Also, I collected my passport today with an expired visa. Can I go ahead to redo my medical now that I have my passport or are there other requirements?

Thanks again. They kept my husband's passport. So, he's looking into it.

they will send you a mail on how to go about the reissuance of your expired visa with instructions on things you will need to do before your expired visa is reissued

Thank you so much. However, do I have to send a mail first to inform them that it has expired or just wait till I get a mail from them? Also, can I go ahead to book for medicals (since I have many passport with me already) so there won't be any rush when they eventually mail me.

Hello. You should try contacting embassy first before booking for medicals or making any payments. Also, don't wait for them to send you an email before writing them because I doubt they will reach out. I attached an excerpt from a reply I got from them concerning intending immigrants with expired visas (like your case).

You can try this email support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com if their regular lagosIV@state.gov doesn't work
