Hi everyone! Any info on when the Embassy will resume?

No idea. My husband is awaiting his interview letter but so far no news. So sad that the Nigerian government and the US embassy can't get it together. Even when they do open, they will be backlogged  no doubt.

I honestly don't understand why the Nigeria embassy isn't doing anything about resumption... Not even an update on when they will be back to service.

Families are separated far too long for God sake. Is it that they don't really care of how this is affecting us Psychologically and  Emotionally?

Some of us have our passport withheld for months now with no news of when we are getting it back while some waiting for interviews etc.

Let's not even talk about our government because they've failed us woefully. Nigeria the supposed GIANT of Africa. Jesus takes the wheel🙏🙏

How many people are waiting for cr1 visa interview

I have no idea, but I'm pretty sure that with the embassy being closed in Lagos because of the virus, there will be a backlog. People are getting approved at USCIS and are at NVC waiting for their interview letters, plus some that had interview dates before they closed the embassy had their dates changed. It's  a big mess. I hope and pray they open soon so they can start working on interviews. Best of luck!

I completely agree. My husband's friend got his visa in March and then the travel ban. Then the virus hits, and they shut everything down. His visa will expire this month. It is a sad situation for all of us going through this immigration process. I miss my husband so much. It has been a year since we've seen each other, and it is so depressing. All we can do is pray they will resume services at the embassies soon. The got their money, but I doubt how we feel about all this  matters to them. God help us all!!🙏🙏

Do you guys think that if they resume international flights soon, they’ll resume the services at the embassy?

There’s really no way of knowing but a reply I got from the embassy says they will resume American Citizen Services first before any visa service. As for international flights resuming......doesn’t seem like that’s very soon.

International commercial flights being open is just one of the criteria for the phased opening of foreign consulates/embassies. There is a thread on here that details the Diplomacy Strong plan created by the US Department of State. I don’t remember the exact one you can check the embassy forum or use the search function to find it.
